Chapter 1 - A Weird Morning

Bright brown eyes glistened in the morning light as auburn brown hair decorated her shoulders. She wore no makeup besides a simple lip tint as her petite hand rested on his shoulder. There was something loving and comforting about her presence as she parted her lips to say, "Teo... Teo.. It's time to wake u-"

Screeching beeps from an alarm clock interrupted the bittersweet memory of a gentle woman's voice as Yamachi Teo opened his eyes. Groaning quietly due to being awoken by such a dreadful noise, the teenage boy reached out a hand and allowed it to drop onto the snooze button. His strained pupils glanced at the bright red numbers as they read back in a blaring fashion, "5:30 A.M." Taking his hand off of the small digital clock, the tall high schooler lifted himself enough to sit up right. His feet gently landed on the cold hardwood floor as he shut off his alarm for good.

Today was the day he would be starting his academic life at a new school named Higashi High. Unfortunately, his uniform had yet to arrive, so Yamachi would only be getting the lay of the land for today and maybe begin taking classes tomorrow.

Getting up so he wouldn't be tempted back into the warm safety of his bed, the male's hair fell loosely into his face. The color resembling that of a toasted auburn brown that fell just past his collar bones. A color that was eerily similar to the hair of the woman in his dream. Running a hand through his rather fine locks so that he could manage walking around his room without tripping, Yamachi began his morning routine.

Since he had just moved to the city with his father, almost all of his things were in boxes besides his assembled bed, some sheets, a pillow and his alarm clock. The walls were void of any decoration and the window was without any protection. Shuffling around in a habitually quiet manner, the tall boy got out some acceptable clothes and his necessities for the morning. All the while a sturdy, ornate hair band was wrapped comfortably around his right wrist. The jade, jasper and steel beads hanging from the permanently tied ends would gently clash together as he moved throughout the morning.

It was only after he had cleaned up that Yamachi dressed in fresh clothes before brushing through his hair. The boy's slim fingers creating a small braid along the side of his head before putting his hair into a pony tail for the day using his ornate hair tie.

After examining himself in the bathroom mirror, the boy only appeared to notice dark brown eyes staring back at him. With his hair finally out of his face, Yamachi only had his bangs hanging down to frame his features. Fiddling with the shortened hair as if it would make him look any different, the teenager soon abandoned his pointless activities to head out.

Looking over at the fridge as he contemplated getting breakfast, Yamachi noticed a simple note stating: "Please, go grocery shopping after school. There's money on the table. -Dad". Without the slightest bit of surprise or apprehension, the tall male simply went over and took the note along with the money. Slipping it into his pocket, the brunette continued on his way out the door after putting on a pair of shoes.

Making sure to lock the door behind him with a spare key he had been given only a few days before, Yamachi didn't appear to mind the lack of people. The apartment complex he now had to call home was utterly silent as he walked down the stairs before landing safely on the pavement. Putting his hands into his dark jean pockets, the tall figure made his way onward with only a small slip of paper to guide him. It was a written set of directions that he had conjured up the night before with the help of a city map; given that they didn't have their internet set up yet let alone any phone service.

However, the farther that Yamachi went, the more people began to show up around him. Other students dressed in varying uniforms walked in pairs or alone in his peripheral vision just as parents and other adults rushed to their work. Finally making it to what appeared to be a large train station, the brunette muttered to himself. "Why do I have to get on a train to travel to school..?" Apprehension shown in his eyes as he went to fetch a ticket before standing idly by the rest area.

The feeling of other people's eyes on him enhanced the males anxiety as a group of girls giggled somewhere behind him. It was only when the male spotted a girl around the age of ten walking beyond the yellow line that his heart nearly stopped. Hearing the oncoming train, the teenager rushed into action as she bent down to retrieve something that may have been thrown near the tracks. The trains horn blew through the station as a warning as the mechanical intercom voice stated, "Please, stand behind the yellow line as the train passes." It would only be a few more moments before she would be hit. With his feet adeptly flying across the ground he wrapped his arm around her waist as the trains horn sounded for the last time. Hoisting her up and back behind the safety line Yamachi's heart pounded as the train passed by before coming to a stop. The girl in his grasp frozen with fear as she held what appeared to be a charm in her hand.

Continuing to look at the train with a mortified expression, it took the brown eyed male a minute to realize the danger was over. Gingerly placing the small girl down on her feet Yamachi was surprised when she burst into tears. Her wails echoing across the station as a black haired teen came rushing to their side. "Remi!" Speaking the girls name as she clung to her rescuers legs and waist the male figure was clearly out of breath. His chest heaving up and down as he immediately went to comfort the ten year old. Kneeling down as soon as he was near enough to be noticed the so-called Remi immediately rushed into his arms. "What did I tell you about going near the tracks? You need to be more careful!" Sobbing into his school uniform the small female couldn't seem to respond as Yamachi was tensed from the sudden contact. His body rigid with awkward unfamiliarity as the teen looked at him. "I'm sorry for the trouble my sisters caused you." Shaking his head in a timid, almost frightened way the brunette being replied hastily, "No, it's fine I just-"

"Last call for all passengers, please enter before the doors shut." The mechanical voice came on once again over the intercom as Yamachi panicked. "Ah! I-I'm sorry I have to go!" Leaving almost as quickly as he had come to the rescue the brown eyed male just made it into the train with a few others quickly dashing in behind him. Sucking in a sigh of relief the flabbergasted boy quietly went over to a handle bar as he thought. 'What a weird morning.'
