Year 3015, the 5th year birthday of the Nothos is in huge excitement. Nothorians are on cloud nine.
The ceremony is taking place at the main hall on floor 80 of the non-rotatory shaft.
'Sir!, I am Harish Nelson, nice to meet you', said a man coming the back-stage, holding few decoration in his hand. One was a floating model of the solar system and another was of Nothos. A pouch tied to his waist contained what looked like holograph discs which were about to fall anytime off that unzipped pouch.
Few more people joined him. One of them was a member of Nerdo, whom l clearly recognized by seeing the print on his black T-shirt saying 'Welcome To Infinite Possibilities'. Nerdo is a non-governmental space exploration group with around 50,000 highly intelligent nerds and three times of them is the population of robots. They were the first to build the first successful orbo-sphere which is something quite similar to the 'Dyson's sphere'[1]. The orbo-sphere A1 was of radius two kilometer and could support life of 18,000 residents. It had an total surface area of 12.75 kilometer square[2]. This space station revolves around the sun at a speed of 66301.369863 km per hour[3]. It takes a whole earth year to revolve around the sun. it is about 7 million kilometers away from the sun and covers a elliptical orbit length of about 4.84X10^7 km. once when I was 24 years old I had applied for a job here but I was unsuccessful at passing the entrance exams. I am sure I would get the job if I tried again but I don't want to reveal myself to other people as a person-who-applied-and-got-disqualified. However the other faces were unrecognizable.
After greeting me I followed them to the makeup room where I got ready for my speech. I took out a perfectly folded sheet of paper and revised points I had to explain. In about an hour the ceremony began. We had the chief the president of Nothos, John Javine here today and I really didn't want to mess up in front of him.
'Now we have Mr.Kai, the structural engineer of Nothos to educate us on how he has designed this amazing home for us to live in'. Announced an anchor standing on the stage. A shock crippled through my spine as I heard my name announced. I walked on to the stage, nervous, closing my eyes trying to remind myself all the points and trying to not hear the sound of claps of thousands of people in the hall. Something then came to my mind, I felt unknowingly happy that most of the people would be watching from their homes. The thought of facing less people gave me enough courage to slowly open my eyes and begin my speech.

'Nothos-Non Terrestrial Human Orbital Settlement, revolving around the mighty sun has become our new home. A new place where we can live. A place large enough to reduce the population crisis on earth and a place which is ecologically stable. A place which has brought us a step closer to interstellar exploration. A place which has set up a new era in humanity. Last but not the least, a place which we can call as our second home.' The claps rendered me frozen for a minute and then I continued. 'The international settlement was an idea to reduce the resource stress on earth and to make a place for future human habitat. The station as it is can be divided into two sectors , NHS and ARCS[4]. NHS is the external spinning part which has a earth like ecosystem maintained naturally through various factors we imported from earth. It has natural plant growth, water cycle ,atmosphere, and temperature along with artificial gravity of 1 earth gravity created by the centrifugal force of this spinning disk. In this area we have created mountains, forests and other natural regions. NHS is the same as earth. It's a place where we can lead an earth like life. We have selectively chosen certain animals and plants to live in this ecosystem to maintain stability. It is controlled by a complex system called the HMS[5] which all of you have heard of. . It works together along with other AIs like Alpha-the data manager, Beta-maintainer of law and justice, and Zeta-system software of all robots, gadgets and automatic systems. These artificial intelligences together operate Nothos. The NHS contains 90% of the total population of Nothos. It is connected to the ARCS with titanium and aluminum alloy tial, a substance which actually practically makes up almost the entire structure of Nothos. This tube is hollow from the interior and is used as a transportation canal. Some tubes open above lakes and seas to give an beautiful effect of a waterfall. But actually the main objective of it is to produce energy. Water released from the ARCS is transported by the centrifugal force. The water running away from the ARCS to the NHS has kinetic energy which turns turbines present on the sides of the hollow tube. The kinetic energy is converted to mechanical energy and then to electrical energy by the generators producing huge amounts of electricity. It also uses the energy from the sun giving it unlimited supply of energy. The excess energy is even transported back to earth for reducing the energy crisis there.'
I paused once again but this time a little longer…..
'The ARCS however, is based on entirely different engineering structure. It is the non-rotating part of the space station. So there is no gravity there which is hence used for scientific study, experiments, construction, no gravity means no requirement of extra force to oppose gravity, storage, transportation and many more. It is the main part of Nothos, it acts as the central axis for the NHS to spin around. It contains the software system of all the AIs. Not just that it stores information of all people living here….. When we left earth we wanted to take all species of animals and plants here and keep them safe, like Noah's ark. But that didn't work out hence we decoded the DNA[6] structure of more than a million animals and plants and stored the data here so that we can recreate them when we can find another planet suitable for life. Therefore it is the largest encyclopedia of animals and plants. Not just that it contains information about everything humanity has ever done! All the books written! All the reports! All the events! All the knowledge! Moreover it has all the files, each and every single one of them in the internet, downloaded! It is an huge server , very huge server, insanely mammoth and gigantic server'.....

'The ARCS is divided into 7 compartments, with each compartment divided into many floors. The first two compartments are used for storing. The first compartment is used to dock space ships and space pods. It has three doors for entry. The first one opens into a vacuum chamber, which when entered, the third door closes and opens the pressure chamber, which in turn opens up the interior chamber where 500 supersized ships can be docked. It contains around 10,000 safety pods for escape during any emergency. It even has ejection tubes through which the space craft can be launched. This uses the centrifugal force of the rotating body and also super powered electromagnets which can accelerate it to high velocities even before leaving Nothos. The other chamber stores resources.it has enough volume to store all basic necessity. The 3rd compartment is used for experiments which require vacuum or non-gravitational environment and other scientific research. Compartment 4 contains our mechanical factory where we build space crafts and other required gadgets and electronics. Compartment 5 is where other habitats are. It is where we are sitting now. It has iron railings within the ground and the electromagnetic shoes we wear when we enter here, helps us stand upright without drifting out like in a non-gravitational place. Compartment 6 and 7 are places where all the data I mentioned before are stored. The 7th compartment is for some governmental stuff….."

I got down the stage , I felt very shy, the claps were louder than the shoot off of Saturn V[9]. When I reached down I received a text: 'Nice speech sir. But would you mind come to compartment 7 right now….we have a very good news for you, there is no need to wait for 50,000 years….…..The 1974 radio signals have returned[10]'…..
