Seabeck, Washington

Matt wakes up in the Hummer as Ransie guides it through another forest trail. "Have you slept?" Matt questions, motioning to the girls.

"Not since... what- two days ago?" Ransie yawns. "The only way I'll get sleep, is when I can park this thing and not worry about an attack."

"What if I drive?" Matt offers.

"Who does Cortana usually respond to?" Ransie shoots back.

"Valid point, but let me drive." Matt groans, shoving Ransie.

Ransie soon goes to sleep. And he sleeps for about four hours while Matt guides the hummer down a beach trail.

"Welcome to Scenic Beach..." Matt murmers.

Three hours down the beach

Matt yawns while driving, and seeing as the girls woke up, he shakes Ransie, asking, "How'd you sleep?"

Ransie pops his back before responding, "I've slept better. Where are we?" He asks, yawning.

"You are currently on Scenic Beach, a state park in Seabeck." Cortana says.

"Cortana, open the hatch. Matt, get that ugly backside of yours to the MG. Ladies, we have four, 9mm pistols under the seats, and I know y'all can shoot." Ransie says.

Matt crawls to the gun as the hatch opens as the girls grab the guns mentioned by Ransie.

"Scan complete, walker horde incomimg." Cortana announces.

"Aw. Jeez man... God help us." Matt says from the mounted gun's controls.

"Amen bro... keep a steady stream going dude." Ransie calls.

"Hey, how long till we get to a base?" Sav asks.

"Cortana?" Matt asks the rude AI.

"Approximately 45 minutes, not counting the time for you to kill the horde... if we are it'll be a week." She sasses.

"Burn..." Ransie chuckles. "Matt, east to west. Girls... just keep em off us. I'll drive... Cortana, release wheel spikes. And charge the doors."

Ransie readjusts his hands on the steering wheel and then drops the SUV into 4 wheel drive. He punches the gas and seems to do a burnout in the rocks. Some of which hit walkers, slowing them down and causing them to attack eachother.

"They're drawn to blood!" Kat yells. She then shoots a walker in the head. Which causes the others to attack it.

"Horde incoming, north. Base is to your left. Incoming radio signal. Broadcast?" Cortana rattles off.

"Play broadcast. Prepare return on same channel." Ransie commands, punching the Hummer into a walker. Its head flies right off.

"Playing: '-p. My name is Bass. I'm a Green Berret sniper, and looking for a ride to Joint Base Lewis McCord. I need help. My name is Bass. I'm a Green Berret sniper, and looking for a ride to Joint Base Lewis McCord. I need help.' It's a loop message. Want to send a return?" Cortana asks.

"Cortana, ping the location. I know dad left his equipment in here."

Ransie glances into his rearview, and sees his beautiful girlfriend, the woman he'd do anything to protect. She has a concentrating look, which he loves because she always moves her blond hair behind her ear. Not to mention, she is one of the best shots out of their crew.

"It's from the cabins. An old CB." Cortana states.

"Direction?" Matt questions.

"North by northwest. 50 meters."

As Ransie pushes the Hummer through the horde, wheel spikes tearing them up, they finally access an open patch of ground to the cabins.

"Here we are. Matt, stay on guard. I'll take an ax, and my 9. I'll be back, hopefully with an ally." Ransie breathes.

He pulls his gun out, and keeps scanning his surroundings. He soon hears the crack of a high powered rifle.

"Cortana, trace that sound!" He demands.

"Third cabin. East side window. Door on north." The AI says from his phone.

He walks to the door, tries it and notices the complex locking mechanisms. He figures that, if anything, he should knock.

After a minute, he feels a chill, as if something is going to go bad, real quick. He hefts his ax over his left shoulder and unholsters his 9.

While he was scanning the area around him, he heard a ratta tat tat and crack of the guns at the Hummer.

While he looks over he didnt hear the door unlock or see the hand that grabbed his shoulder and yanked him into the cabin.

"OH CRAP!"
