Chapter 167 - Chapter 1. Hermit, Demos Georgas

Demos Georgas laid on a makeshift cot in his hut, in the middle of some unknown forest. His grey eyes and white hair were illuminated through the openings of moonlight from his hut.

It looked like a peaceful scene of an old man getting rest after a hard day if only there weren't an enormous pile of animal corpse right outside.

A single ray of moonlight shone down and pierced through the eyelids his and was abruptly awoken by it.

A Greek man from ancient times who died with horror from the battlefield only to be brought here on his deathbed. This mysterious world with strange trees, talking animals, strange looking people, and their strange clothes and tools.

He didn't really understand what was going on, but he remembers the person who claimed she was a goddess saying she was sending him to a place full of battle and wonder. His people believed in God greatly, so he believed her. But when he asked what task she wanted him to do. Because most gods give mortals tasks, but, she didn't.

"Task? Theirs is no Task for you. I only want you to live for yourself." was all she said before this strange wind lowed taking him here.

He had lived in this forest for many years since then he created a hut and even a statue for the goddess whom he had to meet with a table full of offerings. Her prays to her every day in respect.

He did find a kind of enjoyment here though, he hunted and tasted the meat of many animals. At first, he felt strange for eating the creatures that were blessed with the god's language, but after awhile he got used to it. As well as life in the forest, where he lived was by a river, there was plenty of trees and fruit.

He had been cultivating the land here with seeds he found on a corpse. Demos made sure to bury the man properly and prayed for his soul.

Afterword's he planted the seeds, it surprised him that it only took a day for the plants to grow.

But they were delicious red berries, and he believed it was a blessing from the goddess as he continued on his days in this little place, it wasn't too big or extravagant. It was just the right size and easily manageable.

Till today a large group of animals appeared before him and yelled at him for eating their kin. He was speechless. But, could do nothing but defend himself.

After a few seconds they where all in a puddle of corpses before his hut.

The elderly man trembled thinking he had done a bad thing and wondered if the goddess would forgive him for harming these creatures.

He signed as he got up from his cot and prayed for forgiveness from her statue again.

Little lights were soon glowing around him, the 'little people with wings' he dubbed people came out. These little people were surrounded by fire with strange colors. He saved one on the second day he arrived, and then after doing this peculiar ritual, they all seem to like they stay around him more often.

They were very lovely little people who helped him a lot. They don't eat much and also like the small red berries he gives him.
