Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

I never thought moving to Rosewood, Aura, would be so dull. When my father explained the surroundings to me, it sounded so cool. We moved because my father just got a transfer to the main building for his work, which is in Moonlight, Aura. It's close to here, but I would still like to experience the city life there. My father is a businessman for the biggest and most successful company on the planet, Stellar, in the Kim industry for performance, makeup, and clothing. They basically rule the world if you think about it. They helped build the modern world and the major cities from way back. We moved because the CEO was very close friends with my father, and his secretary had quit on him for unknown reasons, so he offered my father the job. Of course, my father accepted the offer.

"ROSE GET DOWN HERE AND HELP ME!" I heard my mother yelling from downstairs. I sighed at how she doesn't change her ways of living; she is a witch, literally. She goes around spending my father's money, hooking up with other men for their money or looks, plus she is never home. My mom is a stranger to me; I wouldn't even call her my mother anymore. I would call her by her birth name, Miki Light, and yes, we took her last name when she married my father. My father's name is Doyen Light, formerly known as Doyen Park, a man who is from a noble family. My father was on a trip to Laxus, a country where everything thrives on mana and magic. He met my mother there when he was doing a student exchange program, and it just so happened that Miki had to translate for the exchange students.

It was basically love at first sight cliché with their love story, but for my mom, it was love at first sight of money. I feel bad for my dad to marry this woman who is nasty and selfish. I ran downstairs to see what she needed help with, but I had a feeling it would be everything because she was as lazy as a potato. I got downstairs just to see her on the couch with another man kissing him. Might I say, I wish I didn't come down here. I coughed to get their attention to asked, "What do you need help with, Miki." She looked at me like she was going to kill me and said, "Rose, I told you to call my mother, and can you unpack all of the kitchen items for me? Thanks. Oh, and this is our new neighbor, Mr. Kim." I knew that the nice tone she used with me was fake, just like her chest.

"Hi, Mr. Kim, I'm Rose Light. Glad to meet you." I said, smiling at him but wanting to leave immediately. He shook my hand, greeting himself, "Hi, Rose, I'm Daniel Kim. You are as wonderful as your mother." I tried to smile at him but turned my attention to Miki's hand. "Yep, she took the ring off. Typical her," I said to myself. I left them to go unpack the kitchen while they got to know each other better, and I could tell my father that I wasn't lying about Miki. I told him about what she does when he isn't here or when she goes out on her "girls' night" with her friends. He loves her too much to even believe me once on what I tell him. I started to unpack the kitchenware and put it in the right place.

As I was putting the things in the right place, I heard the back door opening, I thought it was a burglar, but nope, it was my father. "Dad I thought you had work today. Why are you home early?" I asked him. He chuckled and said, "Well I wanted to be a surprise. I was just going to my workplace for a tour." I nodded understanding. I remembered that Mr. Kim and Miki were still in the living room together. I grabbed my father by the arm, dragging him to the living room. Yeah, I know he shouldn't see this, but he should know sooner rather than later.

When we got to the living room, they were full-on making out now. I felt myself almost vomit, but I was able to suppress it. I looked at my dad and saw tears in his eyes. I knew he was heartbroken, but he must face reality head-on, even if it hurts a lot. I saw his face turn from sadness to anger to sighing or reality. I felt he had already known but didn't want to accept it. He wiped away his tears, walked or stomped up to the black leather couch, and coughed to get their attention. When they looked up, my mother was flustered and slapped Mr. Kim, saying, "How dare you try to rape me. I have a husband; shame on you." "What you are, the one who grabbed and kissed me." Mr. Kim said with an annoyed face. I chuckled at him, but my mother looked at my dad and started to fake cry.

"Dear, he is lying. He came on me and tried to rape me. I tried pushing him off, but he was too strong." She said, crying to him on his shirt. I sighed at what she was putting on, and I walked to Mr. Kim and said, "You should leave right now." He agreed and walked out the front door. I turned my attention back to my parents, and my father had just slapped my mom in the face. "SHUT UP YOU LITTLE WITCH! I thought I could trust you, but all these years, I turned a blind eye because I loved you so much! But this time, I am not letting it slide." He said, so furious that his hair, eyes, and voice changed, scaring me and my mom. His hair was winter colors, his eyes were silverfish blue, and his voice sounded demonic. "D-dad, calm down, you're changing," I said, a little scared of him like this. He looked at me and pointed to the staircase.

I knew he wanted me to go upstairs and not interfere with the fight between him and her. I went upstairs, not wanting him to get angrier if I disobeyed him. I ran upstairs fast before I heard things I didn't want to hear from their fights. This was my first time seeing him so angry like that, I mean, I have seen my mother's form when she is furious, but I have never seen my father angry before. My father is a high-class hybrid of a demon and a mage, while my mom is a pure witch.

As for me, I'm lots of things, and according to my grandparents, I'm a particular species that is rare, so for my safety, I shouldn't reveal myself. I went to my desk and powered on my laptop to research apartments near my dad's workplace. I was searching here and there until I heard a crash from downstairs. I was worried, so I closed my laptop and ran down the creaky stairs to see them both transformed and fighting with each other. I decided to transform into my first form and come between them. "ENOUGH DAD! SHE ISN'T WORTH THE HASSLE," I yelled at them. My voice was more profound than expected. It has been a long time since I was in this form. To say the most, it felt weird to be in this form now.

After I separated my parents from their intense fight, I walked, well, dragged my dad into my room to discuss the apartments I found. I transformed back into myself again because I didn't want to be in my omega form right now. My first form isn't as scary as my second or third, but it is still scary enough to frighten a nation, according to my parents. My first form was when I had silverish hair with a wine color streak; my clothes were a leather jacket, a black crop top with spikes, leather pants, and combat boots. I also have reddish-bluish eyes, but anyway, back to the apartments, I found two that could work.

"I found two that could work for both of us, Dad. Have a look." I said, sitting him on my chair and opening my laptop. I typed in my password and opened the websites of the two apartments. As my dad went over all the things they had to offer, I went to the bay window and looked at the sky covered in clouds. The breeze was strong but not strong enough to lift anything. Today has been officially the weirdest and most unpleasant day of my life. Still, when I am with that witch, it's always unpleasant. I kept looking out the window to see if anything interesting was happening.

Nothing was interesting; it was just some people walking and talking, not cars passing by. "Rose, come here. I think this one will do." My father said, calling me over to my desk, which was made from chestnut wood. I walked over to see which one he picked, and to my surprise, he decided the charming apartment over the more modern one. Usually, he would choose the modern one, but their rent was too much for him to handle; I mean, 1600 dollars a month is too much of a rent price. I nodded at his choice and said, "Well, let's get packing, but technically, we only need to pack your things cause I didn't unpack anything from my boxes. Just my backpack, dad." He chuckled and nodded. We packed his stuff from the witches' room and some things from the kitchen.

As I was packing some stuff from the kitchen, the bitch, oh, I mean witch, came in. "You must be happy to leave here. Honestly, you were always a mistake, a disappointment, and nobody will like you when you move." She said, laughing at the end. I sighed, stood to face her, and chuckled, "Well, well, looked at what the breeze picked up. The witch of the west, oh sorry, I forgot you go by the bitch of the west. Look, your words don't affect me anymore, so piss off before I go alpha on you." The look on her face was priceless when I said that to her. "Why, you little —" She didn't finish what she was saying because my dad came behind her and smacked her head. I laughed a little with a sly smirk because it looked like my dad finally had the guts to hurt those who wronged him, like that witch.

"Shut it, Miki, save your words. Rose told you your words won't affect her, so stop trying. And Rose, leave her alone; she isn't worth the time." He said, and I happily nodded, returning my attention to what I was packing. My dad returned to packing and putting things in the moving truck and car. I felt a tap on my shoulder, and when I turned around, I felt a slap to the face. I fell backward, hitting my back on the countertop. I looked up to see that Miki slapped me in the face. "What did you do that for!?!" I growled, and it looked like my demonic voice came out, so I knew that I was going into my omega form again. Miki looked at me and came close to me, "Don't think you will get away with ruining my life." She whispered and walked away upstairs. I cast a spell for her not to open or touch any of my stuff and my dad's things because, knowing her, she would cast some stupid spell on our stuff.

I finished packing the stuff from the kitchen and carried the boxes into the moving truck. I slid the brown boxes in the back of the car, but it didn't hit the back of the truck; instead, it halted before they hit the back. I looked at it weirdly and decided to go up in the car and look at what stopped the boxes in the first place. I walked to the back of the truck and checked what was behind the boxes. "What the heck is this?" I said to myself and picked up an old black leather book with weird symbols on the cover of it. I walked outside with the book in hand and went to ask if one of the movers accidentally misplaced this because it wasn't mine or my dad's.

"Hey, did one of you guys misplace this strange book?" I asked both the men that were moving my desk carefully. They both looked at the book and shook their heads no. "Well, mind if I have this book?" I asked them while looking at the book with full-on curiosity. I love books; what do you expect from a girl who practically has her own library. Anyway, I went to my room and grabbed my backpack to safely put the book in there. We didn't have much more to move and put in the truck or car, so I went to my dad to tell him that I would wait in the car. "Alright, we just need three or two more things to move into the truck, and we should be good to go on our way to Moonlight City." He said with a small smile. I nodded understanding and went to the car to read the book I found.

I was in the car pulling out the weird and honestly creepy book I found in the back of the truck. "Harmonia Vitae" The book's name was in an old language. Still, luckily, I knew this language, so I knew what the title was. "Harmony of Life," I said in astonishment about the title, and I had a pretty good idea of the book. I opened the book and started to read the first chapter of it. After reading the book for a while, I found it interesting, and all of it was in the old language, which is excellent if you think about it. I continued to read the book until my dad came in and said, "Hey, we are ready to go, sweetie. Oh, what is that you got there?" he pointed at the book I was reading.

"Oh this, well I found it in the truck, so I asked them if it was one of theirs, but they said no. Then I asked them if I could keep it, and they said yes." I explained, and he just nodded, understating the situation and my love of books. He got in and started to drive behind the moving truck, but did he even call the apartment complex about our arrival? I thought about it and asked him, "Dad, did you even call the apartments about our move-in?" "Huh? Oh yeah, I did, and they said okay, but I need to pay them the money." He said. I simply nodded my head and continued to read the book. I was already in chapter two of the book, and it was in Auranese; that was weird. First, it was an old language, and now it is in Auranese.

I read this weird, confusing ass book of mine while we were continuing our journey to our new apartments. We had been driving for an hour or two, but I was getting hungry since we didn't eat lunch. I decided to hold it in because I didn't want to keep us from moving to the new place. We were on the highway going to Moonlight city center and a new chapter into our lives. We got to the city quickly since my dad exceeded the speed limit. Luckily, no policemen were around, or we would have gotten a ticket. I pulled up the navigation system to see how far the new apartment was. The sky had an orange-blueish sky, and the city lights shined brighter, signaling the day would be over and the night would arise. We were almost to the apartment complex; we just needed to turn right at the next light.

I have dreamed of being in Moonlight since I saw my first Moonlight pop music video, or ML-pop for short. When I saw the group "DayNight," they were so unique, and they did their own thing to bring the music they wanted to produce to fans worldwide. I watched outside the window and saw the bustling city filled with people walking to go on dates, hang out, or work and back. Music filled the air wherever we went or drove by, and I loved that so much.

My dad turned at the light and into the apartment, which was charming, as the website had said. The building was 5 stories, with a whiter Victorian exterior, plus a garden full of flowers and cute little creatures running around. My father went inside to pay the landlord the money, and we can move right in. I waited in the car until he returned with the keys to signal that we had the apartment. It was about 15 minutes since he had been in there, and it was likely because of the paperwork, so I just turned off the car and went to the apartment complex to look around. I started with the garden in front of the apartment. It looks so beautiful, silent with some insects buzzing, and just a perfect place to be alone and no one bothering you. "hmm…hmm…Lala Lala," I started to hum or sing a song that the book showed in the second chapter. It is a song of peace, but if used for the wrong thing, it could be a song of death.

I continue to hum the whole song, again and again, to put the animals and the surroundings at peace, not death peace, but like a relaxed and no one can bother you kind of peace. I was sitting near the trunk of a tree reading the rest of chapter 2; halfway through the reading, I was cut off by someone saying, "Hey, you new here?" I looked around to see no one until I felt a leaf on my head. I looked up to see a boy around my age, maybe older. "Who are you?' I asked, and he chuckled, saying, "I should be asking you that one. So, who are you, stranger?" he came down from the tree in a "super" terrific anime-style way. I looked at him unimpressed and exited my comfortable spot under the golden-leafed tree scattering in the wind. "I'm Rose Light, and you are right. I'm new here. What about you, stranger?" I said, reaching for a handshake, which he gladly accepted. "I'm Hyunk Kim. I live in apartment number 107. So, Rose, what are you doing in Moonlight City?"

"I'm here because of my father's work. He worked for the Kim Corporation in Haven, but the CEO offered him a job as his secretary since they are close friends. So, if you are done here bothering me, I will take my leave." I said, walking away from the guy. I was rude, but I just wanted peace and quiet for myself. Walking back to the car, I felt a tug on my shoulder. I turned around to see the same nice guy but cocky at the same time. No one knows this about me, but I can see the person's personality before speaking to them, and I also have other abilities. "What do you want?" I said, a little frustrated at the guy, and he just chuckles at me and puts something up. I looked to see that it was my book. I tried to reach the book, but he kept making it harder to get by holding it above my height. "Give Me My Book Back," I told him, glaring holes into his eye sockets. He looked straight at me and had the balls to say, "How about no. Unless you beg me to return it or at least a please." Aaarrrggg, I hate him more already.

"Fine, Please, can I have my book back," I said as nicely as possible. He laughed at the attempt and gave me my book back but did not forget to say, "See, that wasn't so hard kitten. See you around." And left me near my dad's car. I so wanted to hurt him and break him into tiny little pieces. As he went inside, my dad came out with a smile. "Guess who got us a new apartment?" he chirped, and I smiled and hugged him joyfully. We told the moving guys to unpack our stuff in apartment 117. My dad told me to open the apartment door and pick out my room. I ran inside the flat and was stunned by the beauty of the interior. The walls were white with artwork hanging on them, the décor was very charming and shiny, the smell in the air smelled of lavender, and the whole interior stunned me.

I snapped out of my trance when I heard my dad telling me to stop staring and open the door to the apartment. After that, I went to find our apartment and opened the door for the moving people. After many attempts on the elevator, I finally found the apartment and opened the door. The condo was gorgeous and spacious. The apartment was modern but had Victorian-style trinkets, and the walls were white with wooden floorboards to complement it. I walked around the apartment to check out the interior, the kitchen, which was also modern, the bathroom, and my favorite place of all, the bedroom. I went to the master bedroom and saw that the walls were white and that it was big. The bathroom was like a luxury spa, the walk-in closet was enormous, and the whole bedroom was like a tiny house of my own.

I walked out of the bedroom and made my way to the other room. It was a very nice-sized bedroom; the walls were black and white with royal trims, the closet was also a walk-in closet, and the bedroom had a bathroom. After my investigation, I went to the living room and saw my dad unpacking our things. We didn't have that much on us, just our clothes, tech, books, office supplies, and smaller objects. Not to mention the furniture and some gardening things. "Dad, I picked a room I wanted," I chirped. He turned to me and asked which one, but I knew he knew which one I picked. I looked at him with the 'I know you know' face, and he laughed. "yeah I know, I know, and it's all your princess." He said, and I gave him a big hug. I carried my things to my new room and started unpacking. I was too lazy to do it by hand, so I moved them with magic and poof, and I was done in no time. After I was done, I went to see how my dad was doing, but when I got out, I noticed he was also lazy and used magic to unpack. He was sitting on the couch watching TV, so I walked up to him, remembering that we hadn't eaten yet.

"Dad, what do you want for dinner?" I asked him, taking a seat next to him. He put his hand on his chin, thinking about what to eat for dinner. We were both hungry since we had skipped lunch. "How about we call for takeout? Tomorrow, we can go shopping for groceries and some other things." He said I was already getting the phone to order some takeout for us. He told me to get some Auranese food, the typical staple food. I also ordered some pizza and fried chicken. Yep, we are having a feast here. After placing the order, I decided to roam around the apartments to familiarize myself with it. I told my dad I would walk around and call me when the food was here. I left for the elevator to start on the first floor and work my way up. After exiting the elevator, I started with the entertainment area, which had a bar and computer café equipped with high-tech software. The gym was fantastic, and I could be there for hours; they had an actual café here, and the lobby was absolutely stunning.

"Well, well, well. Look who we have here. It's the new girl, guys. This is who I was talking about earlier." A very familiar voice said. I was already frustrated, but I will have to answer nicely or lose it. "Well, look who it is. Hyunk is the one that is too cocky for his own self. These must be your friends, right?" I said, looking at them fakely happy. I could see the annoyance on his face while his friends laughed at it. Then I felt a bitch slap to the face, but I took it head-on because I'm not some wimp. I turned to see who slapped me, and it was a girl who had a crop top showing her chest a little too much, a short skirt, a caked-up face, heels, and blond hair. This girl screams, 'Hey, I'm looking for a sugar daddy to take care of me.' "Don't talk to my boyfriend and his friends like that. Do you know who they are!" he said, screaming in my face like I was dead or something. I might actually die of her screaming like a banshee.

"No, I don't," I said bluntly in her face, crossing my arms. She looked at me in shock and said, "Well for your information. He is the son of the Kim Corporation, you know the one that practically builds this world. Show some respect." "Damn so this is the next heir of the company. That is scary now. My dad job is on the line now. Fuck my life." I think to myself in annoyance.

"Oh, really now. Well, then, to avoid problems, I will just walk away." I said, turning around and walking away from this trashy personality group. "Oh, look, babe, she is running away from us.: The girl said, trying to provoke me. I just brushed her off until they kept making fun of me. I kept cool until I heard one of them say, "Doesn't her dad work for your dad, babe? How about we get him fired for her behavior. After all, she is just a slut." I turned around and was beginning to transform into my beta form because that was how much they pissed me off. I approached them in my second form and said, "TAKE THAT BACK NOW." They looked my way, terrified by how I had changed. I don't blame them because my second form was scarier than my omega self. I was like a goddess, but my techno type and personality changed slightly. I had black hair with silver streaks, red eyes, a leather jacket with a crop top, leather shorts, and some weapons. Not to mention the wings on my back that looked like swords.

"W-What are you?" the girl said to me, terrified, and I looked at her intensely until I saw her fall to the ground. "Nothing you need to worry about. Just don't get my father involved in this. GOT IT." They nodded their heads fast, and I calmed down, returning to my usual human self. I turned around and walked away from the now terrified group. I made my way back to my apartment and walked in. "Hey, did you memorize the whole apartment?" my dad asked from the same spot where he was the last time I saw him. "Yeah, but I ran into annoying people on the way. So, the food here yet?" asked him, seeing that it had been about 30 minutes since I was out roaming around the apartment. I decided to go to my room and see what school I would attend for the rest of my life here in Moonlight City.

"Let's see what my new school was ranked and what it is supposed to be like," I said, looking through my computer, searching for the correct school, and hoping it meets my standards. I got to the school's website, and it was called "YeonGeumsul Academy," a place where students can learn just about anything. From magic to performing on stage, the school taught the most famous people, including James Kim. Parents all over MoonLight want their children to go to that school to be successful like him. Like the student council, I looked over the faculty, staff, and the whole student body.

"Food is here!" my father screamed from the living room, so I logged off the computer and went to the living room for food. I went to the kitchen to get plates for us, not to mention some drinks as well. I set up the table in the living room with plates and drinks on it for us. The scent of food filled the whole apartment. My father put all the food that the delivery man had brought. After he put the food on the table, we put whatever we could on the plate and ate our hearts out. We finished eating after thirty minutes had passed by. I put all the leftover food in the fridge and went to the bathroom to start my night routine. Afterward, I turned off the lights and went to sleep the night away. What comes tomorrow was something I should have expected.
