Chapter 1 - Why Us?

Everybody's life is different in all ways, living standards, economy, relatives, parents, siblings, childhood, friends, school and so on. But the difference that I think makes the biggest change is the parenthood. Some children have great parents that raise their children just the right way and others might not care at all. This has a huge impact on a child's upbringing and how it will act later in life. I think that every parent who decides to get a child should put their right hand on the bible and swear to God that they will give their children the best upbringing possible after ability. Unfortunately there are way to many parents that doesn't care enough in Sala.

It is the the ending of April 2015 when I hear my dad shout my name with a sad tone. I had to go and check what was wrong and then I exited my room I headed for the porch. My dad had tears running down his cheeks and a few meters away my mom Monica sat staring with cold eyes at the floor. She wasn't even bothered about the act that she had just done, splitting up the family. Even if I was just 11 years old and I knew this was gonna happen sooner or later. My parents, Monica and Richard had a fight at least twice a day. This wasn't a good time for anyone in the family and the worst time in my life was just about to begin.

The fights are just keep going, fight after fight, day after day, they never quit! I was just about 10 years old when my parents started to fight more often than usual. This was just a small piece of the living hell I would live thru just two years later. But the thing that was most frustrating was the mind games my mom played on me, she told some awful lies about Richard then he didn't hear us. So she created a false hate to my dad that I of course believed. It isn't so hard to manipulate a 10 year old specially if you are the favorite parent. Later on I talked to my big brother Grant about what Monica told to me about Richard and he busted every single lie. I remember how empty I felt after that, the person I trusted most, my own mother betrayed me. And that was then I understood something really, really bad was about to happen. After a few days of figuring I took the decision to tell both my parents at the same time about the lies. I thought it was the right thing to do but oh, lord I was so wrong. My dad became furious and started to scream right out in pure anger, and I do understand him now but back when it was really scary. He finished the yell with throwing his wedding ring into the floor. Monica's crystal blue eyes filled up with tears and she headed for her car keys in the hallway. Monica is a mentally weak person, just a little shit and she can end up in a mental breakdown. Afterwards when I think about it, it is probably fake 90% of the time to get me to feel bad for her so I once again would take her side. But Grant is five years older than me and he understood Monica's desperate tries to manipulate us.

It is now the 31 of may and I am packing my last clothes into the bag. I hear my dad shouting my name, it is time to go. I grab my big blue backpack and suitcase. I slowly walked out of my room with a emotional war inside me. Would this be fun and thrilling or just pain? I had no idea but my parents had already payed or the trip and a room. I walked out the door and locked after me before going down the car. Both my parents is already sitting in the car waiting. I can see how uncomfortable my mom is besides my dad in the front seat, he haven't done anything he just sits there trying not to make anything worse. I open the trunk of the red Volvo and put in my stuff. As soon as I sit down in the car my mom puts on a fake smile just to cheer me up at the same time she says that everything will be alright.
