Chereads / Dear Young Master, Spare Me Please? / Chapter 188 - The Patient

Chapter 188 - The Patient

Han Meixiu was guided towards the room where Aunt Jing's daughter was being confined.

When the older woman heard she was coming she couldn't help shedding tears.

Aunt Jing was already thankful that Liu Zijian arranged a private room for her daughter and now that the young mistress was visiting, she couldn't contain her gratitude.

"Aunt Jing, is everything okay?" Han Meixiu gently asked as she walked inside the room.

The cream colored wall was devoid with any decoration. There's a window that would give a view of the park below.

There were two brown colored single sofa at the corner and a small television was hanging on the wall.

The patient was dressed in a clean and grayish hospital gown. There were multiple apparatus attached to her to aid her fight for life.

"Thank you. I'm really thankful. I'm sorry if I can't work for a time and for giving only a short notice."

"It's fine. Don't worry about it. How is your daughter?"

"She's still not waking up. Although the operation was successful, she's still under observation for the next 7 days."

"What happened?"

"I also want to know. The police are still investigating it. They said her case is a bit complicated."

Aunt Jing remembered that her daughter was a lively girl. When she said she would find a way to help her, she was against it. They had an argument and then the next day she left.

Aunt Jing never expected she would see her daughter again in this situation.

"Take your time, Aunt Jing. If ever you need anything, don't hesitate to tell us, alright?"

"Thank you."

Han Meixiu hugged the older woman as the latter wept.

After Aunt Jing calmed down, Han Meixiu bid her goodbye.

She was walking in the lobby when she heard someone called her.

"Meixiu!!! Han Meixiu!!!"

When she turned around she was surprised.

"Xiao Xiao?"

"What are you doing here?" Li Xiaozhi immediately asked after shortening their distance.

"I visited someone."

"Who's in the hospital?" Li Xiaozhi continued to ask. She could actually count on her fingers the people Han Meixiu knew especially in K Country.

"A friend?"

"You have a new friend?"

"Uh-huh."

"Wow, congratulations!" Li Xiaozhi laughed.

Han Meixiu chuckled.

"What about you? Visiting a friend, too?"

"Yeah. My roommate is confined here. I've heard the police found her mother. I would like to meet her. Maybe I can help her lift up her mood, even only for a little..."

Han Meixiu looked at her best friend intently.

"Can I come with you?"

"Well, I might stay longer and you might get bored. Besides, you don't know her..."

"It's okay." Han Meixiu quickly said. She's starting to suspect who's her best friend's roommate.

"Alright. Let's go then." Li Xiaozhi resignedly answered.

Every time her best friend would insist, she couldn't really say no.

After telling Aunt Ni Ni to wait in the car, Han Meixiu followed Li Xiaozhi.

When they walked along the corridor, Han Meixiu was quiet and just gave short and simple responses while Li Xiaozhi was talking endlessly.

The moment they stopped on that same room where she came from, she spoke gently.

"I know your roommate's mother."

"Eh? How?" Looking puzzled as Li Xiaozhi tried to imagine how she met the mother, she asked.

"She's our housekeeper. Let's go inside."

Aunt Jing was surprised to see Han Meixiu again. She curiously looked at the other woman closely following Han Meixiu.

"Aunt Jing, she's my best friend, Li Xiaozhi. She's your daughter's roommate."

"I see. Thank you for visiting." The old woman although looking tired, smiled kindly to Li Xiaozhi.

*

Han Meixiu didn't stay longer after hearing some new information Li Xiaozhi gave to Aunt Jing.

Unlike the police that were tight lipped about their investigation and were explaining vaguely, her best friend was very detailed when explaining the different angles of the case.

Her voice was emphatic and from time to time she would comfort the older woman.

Li Xiaozhi also explained that everything was just speculations as of this moment but she just wanted tthe older woman to know.

Looking at Li Xiaozhi, she felt proud. It would't be long before she would become an asset of the police force.

As she walked out towards the car, she secretly observed her surroundings.

If the people tailing them earlier were indeed from her mother, then she wanted something from them.

But the question would be, how would she find them?

Or she should let them show themselves.

Before getting on the car, she called Liu Zijian.

Han Meixiu received an outright 'no!' with conviction when she told him her plan.

"But Jian..."

"No means no." He firmly answered.

Clearly, Liu Zijian wouldn't yield.

Han Meixiu wanted to cry. But she couldn't order his people since she also didn't know who's who.

With a heavy heart, she got on the car.

She was still thinking how could she let those people show themselves.

Since Liu Zijian didn't want to cooperate to stage a fake accident, she should think of something else.

It wouldn't be easy to order the driver to abide to her plan.

If also the people that her husband planted around her wouldn't be informed that the possible 'accident' would just be staged, they would rescue her for sure.

Then her plan to lure out those people would fail, miserably.

If playing a victim wouldn't get Liu Zijian's permission, then what if it's the other way around?

Han Meixiu pondered for a while as she was carefully choosing the right words to make her husband agree to her plan.

She took a deep breath before dialing his number, again.

"I have another plan..." Han Meixiu started.

Liu Zijian massaged his head for a while.

He basically knew that if he would say 'no' again then his wife would think of another 'plan' until he would agree.

"Let me hear it."

The only thing that he could do would be to modify her plan to ensure her safety.

After Han Meixiu told him what she wanted to happen, he agreed. He excused himself for a time and instructed the people guarding her.

Now that she wanted to 'surround' those people of her mother, she was basically excited.

It's not easy to be an assailant as she was always the victim.

Liu Zijiu's people chose a place where they could 'attack' those people without alarming the authorities.

The people secretly tailing Han Meixiu were caught off guard. They never expected that their target would be the one to 'attack' them. Since they were ordered to only guard and not to retaliate, their actions were limited.

Although some were able to escape, Han Meixiu's company got a hold of at least two.

While the gun was pointed to those people as they were surrounded by Han Meixiu's guards, the young woman slowly walked towards them.

Possessing a regal aura of an empress, she looked directly to those two. She already expected that they wouldn't cower under pressure as they were probably carefully selected, she was still disappointed seeing them devoid with fear.

It was probably because they were trained like that or she's not scary at all.

In a barely strong voice she spoke.

"I have a message to your leader or to whoever ordered you to tail me." She said and paused as she lifted her eyebrows and smirked.

She didn't really look scary but she was enjoying the feeling of being 'powerful'.

"Tell that person, don't be a coward. Show himself!" She said with a conviction and turned around. She didn't know if the identity of her mother was known in the entire organization, thus she chose the safest way.

Assuming that the leader is a man.

Feeling accomplished, she was smiling when she sent a message to Liu Zijian.

"It's done."

Containing her smile, she murmured.

'Now it's time to wait.'
