Chapter 158 - Remember

Li Xiaozhi was extremely surprised when she saw the caller after hearing her own mobile phone rang endlessly. She just finished her bath and was wondering what to do the next few days.

While holding a towel and trying to dry her hair, she picked up her phone lying on the side table near her bed.

'Second brother?' She murmured.

She could actually count on her fingers the number of times this brother of hers called her voluntarily.

She thought that she would receive another round of scolding thus she made face against her phone before answering the call.

When her brother told her to prepare for an 'assignment' in Q City, her bafflement increased.

She thought she's going to have another set of training when her brother mentioned a certain military camp.

"Han Meixiu is there. You have to meet her. I'll send you the details in a while." Major Li said in an emotionless voice that sounded robotic to her ears. With only few sentences, he ended the call even before Li Xiaozhi could react.

'Han Meixiu and military camp?' The words were seemingly not appropriate to be put together in a sentence.

But her brother wasn't someone who would fake an 'order' just to make her move her ass right away.

All in her family basically knew Han Meixiu. So she was not surprise when her brother mentioned her best friend's name.

Since she more or less sure that she really should meet her best friend, she only concluded that it would probably Han Meixiu did 'something' to end up in a military camp.

'Wait, isn't she in K Country?'

Li Xiaozhi thought she heard her brother wrong but when she checked again her phone she received her flight details.

'It's really Q City!'

While cursing her brother endlessly she hastily packed her necessities. He wanted her to take the midnight flight!

She was then advised to stay in an airport hotel then someone would pick her up early the next day.

After entering the camp, Major Li greeted Li Xiaozhi nonchalantly and briefly spoke to her before she was pushed to go inside a hut where a middle aged man was waiting.

Her brother's words were always the same.

"Don't create trouble here."

She would always snort as an answer.

The man explained the situation to her and she actually got dizzy understanding everything.

She couldn't explain her worries and frustration upon hearing the details.

What could have happen prior to this situation?

What did Liu Zijian do?

She was with the Liu Family, wasn't that suppose to mean she's secure and safe?

Li Xiaozhi has many questions but unfortunately, Han Meixiu couldn't answer her for now.

Mr. Di, who was the man helping Han Meixiu to recover her memories was closely monitored by her brother.

As she was still organizing her thought, Han Meixiu came in. The two men came out of the hut and it was also the time she realized Mr. Di was disabled.

As she looked at Han Meixiu carefully sitting in front of her, she prepared her most intimidating aura and even added sarcastic tone on her voice.

Unfortunately, she wasn't able to remain in that way for long. After their staring contest, Han Meixiu finally asked her.

Though Li Xiaozhi answered while almost sneering, her expected reaction from the young woman didn't eventually materialize.

Once Han Meixiu smiled, she almost gave way wanting to hug and scold her at the same time.

Li Xiaozhi eventually sighed and the usual expression full fondness she normally gave to her, finally showed up.

"Let's walk outside. It's not good for Mr. Di to stay longer outside the hut." Li Xioazhi said and stood up. She was then followed by Han Meixiu quickly.

The two men were surprised when they saw them went out.

Major Li was actually scrutinizing his sister by looking at her intently but Li Xiaozhi didn't even spare him a single glance.

Major Li was thinking that even though a trouble maker like his sister could actually help people.

When Li Xiaozhi told Mr. Di that they would walk for a while, Major Li wanted to oppose.

Yes, he's worried that the two might create an unwanted disturbance in the camp. But after Mr. Di mentioned that they indeed need to talk as it might probably help Han Meixiu, Major Li's only option was to agree.

The two young woman already walked several meters but no one was still saying anything. It was as if they were just enjoying the coldness of the early winter and the non existent warmness of the morning sun.

The chilly wind was helping both of them to immense themselves in their own respective thoughts.

The proud trees along the way were seemingly dancing subtly as they greeted the winter morning.

"This is surprising." Li Xiaozhi finally spoke as her steps halted.

"What?" Han Meixiu asked glancing to the young woman who was in her side. She was wearing a pastel colored lightweight down jacket suitable for an early winter morning.

"You could walk this far already without complaining." She answered and turned around facing her best friend. Her lips was curved up. She purposely walked fast to check if Han Meixiu would still complain like before.

Li Xiaozhi was genuinely surprised that after walking this distance, the young woman was still quietly walking alongside with her.

When Han Meixiu didn't answer, she continued.

"You also don't like waking up early morning. In the past, around this time, you would still stubbornly wrap yourself with your quilt."

Li Xiaozhi's gaze passed through Han Meixiu. She was clearly reminiscing. She could still imagine the cocoon Han Meixiu on her bed and no matter how loud she would move around their room, her best friend wouldn't budge.

"Ah, it's because I want to recover my memories so I must be diligent. " Han Meixiu answered. Though the memory that she remembered wasn't good, but at the very least there was an improvement.

"Correct. I was called here to make your therapy comfortable. I can also tell you some details if you want." Li Xiaozhi responded in a light and excited voice deepening her smile.

"That's right." Han Meixiu perked up. Since Li Xioazhi's her only friend, then it simply meant she knew a lot about her.

"Ask." Li Xioazhi said finally giving Han Meixiu her full attention as she stopped the flow of memories on her mind.

"Who is Chen Dewei?"

"Huh? Chen Dewei?" Li Xiaozhi asked Han Meixiu again to confirm if what she heard was correct.

When Han Meixiu nodded, Li Xiaozhi's forehead knitted and her index finger subconsciously tapped her chin.

'Why does that name sound familiar?' Li Xiaozhi thought.
