Chapter 119 - Preparation

The two women busied themselves with Han Meixiu's disguise. They had discussion if the younger woman would want a shoulder length or a waist length hair. They also considered if it would be wavy, curly or plain straight. Aside from this, they also considered the color of the hair.

Normally Madam Liu could order someone to just bring some samples to their residence, but since she wanted to have some 'excitement' as she was bored for the past few days when Han Meixiu wasn't in Q City yet, she decided that they should go out to try.

She even persuaded the young woman to do some disguise by applying some prosthetic make up. But Han Meixiu clearly has no talent when it comes to that aspect. In the end, Madam Liu took charge.

The older woman only made Han Meixiu's nose a little bigger and placed a scar diagonally on the left part of her face. She also gave her a curly brown wig with a sided bangs and the length was a little shorter than her hair, thus Madam Liu had to tuck her hair inside using some pins.

Madam Liu on the other hand, made herself older by wearing a wig with a combination of gray to silver hair and a little bit of dark brown scattered around. She also added some wrinkles and mini saggy skin on her face.

Han Meixiu was actually surprised that her Mommy Yi has this kind of room fully dedicated just for disguising. When she first met her, the only difference was her hair and the way she dressed but the there wasn't anything on her face like what they both have now. Or maybe Madam Liu had but it wasn't as obvious as what's on their faces.

When they left the Liu Residence, it was almost lunch time. They then decided to have a quick lunch outside before visiting the necessary stores.

Han Meixiu kept on touching the hair and was clearly uncomfortable. Her head felt a little heavy and the few strands that covered her face were itchy.

It was a good thing they visited a total of only three stores and more or less they knew what they were looking for thus they stayed not longer than an hour and a half in each store they visited.

By the time they finished buying stuff, the sky already darkened.

Since the two were both tired of their activity for today, they decided to try putting on disguise the following day.

That particular morning after sharing a healthy breakfast with the older Liu couple, Han Meixiu received a call from Liu Zijian.

The brief call only contained some few words from both of them but for Han Meixiu it was already enough to hear his voice at least once a day. She wasn't able to answer his call last night as she was tired and slept right after taking a bath without checking her phone that already ran out of battery.

When both the mother and daughter in law finally had the free time, they settled down in that room of Madam Liu where all they bought yesterday was already arranged in order to make them easier to see.

"Do you want to try a long hair or maybe shoulder length?" Madam Liu asked. Ever since she met the young woman, she never saw her with a long hair. It was always short. Although she knew that her daughter in law would look good in any hairstyle she still wanted to see her in a long hair.

She remembered she asked Han Meixiu why she always kept her hair short. The young woman's answer was simple. She didn't want to spend too much time fixing her hair. Having a short hair saved her much time when drying as well as washing. Plus it's easier to 'fix' it especially after waking up since she wouldn't declare a war with a hairbrush but would only stroke her hair few times using her hands.

In short, she was just too lazy to be vain. Or just too lazy in general.

"Probably a shoulder length will do." She answered. Long hair's too troublesome and she didn't want to feel the 'heaviness' on her head. If she could, she actually wanted to leave her hair as it is. But her Mommy Yi was too excited to dress her up so she yielded and decided the shortest length she could use.

"We bought one with soft curls and straight. There's also one with different tones." Madam Liu continued as she picked up two wigs from the boxes in front of them.

Han Meixiu pondered for a time. She never tried curling her hair. Since it's a disguise, the farther her outcome look the better. She chose the one with soft curls and with a combination of dark and light brown to give an impression of a 'think' hair.

Aside from the hair, Mommy Yi also asked Han Meixiu if her make-up yesterday was good so she could simply use it again.

The young woman pondered a bit. When she thought about spending too much time by applying that prosthetic make-up, she wanted to say no. But she couldn't make a good disguise if she would not spend an ample time to it.

"Mommy Yi, is there a way to disguise myself without spending too much time on these make up? Like a mask?" Han Meixiu politely asked. She didn't want to bother her mother in law every time she needed a disguise but she also didn't want to spend time putting on make up for herself. If she has a mask, then it would be easier.

"Of course, there is. But since you'll be starting your training in a few days I'm not sure if the time is enough. Personally, I don't advise you buying a ready to wear type of mask as it might not fit your face perfectly. It's still better to wear a custom made. It would look more authentic that way."

"Then I can wear a mask similar to a surgical mask for the first couple of days that would cover most of my face until the custom made one finished. How about it? I can reason out that I am sick? "

"That's possible." Madam Liu nodded in agreement. She then made a call leaving Han Meixiu behind.

The young woman sighed in relief.

The days passed peacefully and the following day would be the start of her training. Liu Zijian was still in K Country.

She's actually started to worry. How complicated could be the problem why he couldn't leave?

During their short calls, he never mentioned anything about it. Although she asked him couple of times, he just simply answered, 'Don't worry.'

Instead of making her calm, those words actually gave her an opposite feeling.

But she could only wait.
