"You want to ask something?" He knew that the moment she found out Zhang Yu's involvement before, it would only a matter of time before she would confront him.
"Not just that." She simply answered and explained her observation.
Liu Zijian wasn't surprised. It's pretty normal for influential people to avail this kind of service but normally it should not be out in the open as it would attract unwanted attention. His wife was an example of that.
It was as if 'intentional' or Zhang Yu's a novice in this area. Whatever the reason would be, his wife shouldn't concern herself in.
"Don't randomly involve yourself in this kind of things." He warmly warned her. "Let's go to the meeting room." As he took her hand and they waltzed towards the prepared room.
"Okay. What about the rest?"
"They will be there in a while."
As they approach the arranged meeting area where the entire family would be discussing, her worries resurfaced again. She tried to calm herself and practiced the sentences she would say later.
The room was different from an ordinary meeting room. Instead of a long table, it was a living room kind of set up.
Han Meixiu was surprised to see the interior inside. It was cozy and relaxing at the same time. The gentle warm lighting and comfortable looking furniture helped her felt at ease a little.
"They have good rooms." She commented.
"We arranged it this way." Liu Zijian answered. The room was prepared few days ago. All the things inside were checked and arranged by their people to ensure the safety of the entire family and to avoid any possible recording device.
'That explains a lot.' She thought.
After about half an hour finally someone came in. It was Liu Zilong. Although he was smiling when he greeted them, it was clear there was something wrong.
"Sorry. It took a while to come." He said.
"What about them?"
"They won't be able to be here. But Dad gave his signal. We can continue."
Nobody spoke for a time and the three let the silence enveloped the entire room.
"Is mom okay?" Liu Zijian asked.
"I hope so. Let's start." Liu Zilong answered as he took a seat across the couple.
"What happened to Mommy Yi?"
"She's just tired." Liu Zilong simply answered and gave a smile to her seemingly telling her not to worry.
Han Meixiu felt it wasn't just simply being tired. She saw Madam Liu earlier and she was far from being tired. Something must have happened. But she didn't further ask as she felt her brother Long didn't want to elaborate about it.
Since the main agenda of this supposed to be meeting was her answer from Mr. Liu's question she didn't let the two men wait.
"I want to know the reason why my father left Q City even if eventually I would go against my parents. If they really did something bad, then I don't have a reason to defend them." She memorized those words since she arrived in her decision. Though she normally wanted to find a possible excuse to not fully condemn her parents since she didn't know anything yet, she realized that Mr. Liu wasn't someone who would ask her the question for the sake of it. There must be a really important reason behind thus he required her utmost sincerity.
For the second time around, an uncomfortable silence invaded the entire room.
Han Meixiu realized her words weren't enough to convince the men. She lowered her head and prepare to hear their disapproval. She subconsciously bit her lower lips as she tried to calm herself.
"Mom was abducted more than two decades ago." Li Zilong started. Even though he heard this story several times from their father, he's still uncomfortable retelling it.
Han Meixiu was surprised as she abruptly raised her head. She didn't know Mommy Yi was abducted. She only knew she was sick. Did she got sick after the abduction? Or was it during? She wanted to asked questions right away but she waited as her questions might be answered later on.
"Black.com was behind it. That time, your father was already part of it." As Liu Zilong finished his sentence he looked at Han Meixiu. He wanted to see her expression.
Indeed, Han Meixiu was shocked.
"That early?" It meant her parents were barely newly weds by that time and her father was already a member of this organization. She now wondered if her father was in the same mission as the late husband of her cousin, Han Mingxia. Did he also marry her mother because of a mission? But that would not make sense. Why was her father looked for her? Was it because he's guilty?
"When Dad decided to eliminate the black.com in Q City and later on the entire country, he was forced to move to another country." Liu Zilong continued. It was probably one of the reasons why their father agreed to help Han Meixiu. He's partly responsible why she grew up without parents.
Eliminating the entire black.com in the country wasn't an easy breezy task. It took several years and numerous lives to finally remove their entire existence.
Liu Zijian who has been silent the entire time was just observing his wife. He heard his brother's simplified explanation. But he knew Han Meixiu would eventually ask more later on. He knew his wife's curiosity wouldn't end simply like that.
"Was my father directly involved in the abduction?" She innocently asked.
"He wasn't." Liu Zilong answered then heard his sister in law sighed in relief. Although he wanted to add something more he held himself. It would be better to give her a little peace of mind.
"I see." When she's about to ask another question, the door opened and the older Liu couple came in.
The three of them immediately stood up and a questioning look surfaced on their faces as they looked at Madam Liu.
"I'm fine. Don't worry. Sit down." She said warmly as she gestured the three to take their seat.
