"Mom.." She softly said.
Madam Liu felt an unexplainable emotion surging within her heart. The soft voice with hint of nervousness was too touching. It made her eyes moist. "Could you say it again?"
"Mom," This time she was faintly smiling. It's not bad.
"Try pretty mommy."
And Han Meixui was asked to call Madam Liu several other forms of 'mom'. They ended up laughing as the name got more and more ridiculous. The atmosphere became lively as the two continued to chat.
The two men were just listeners. Mr. Liu was the one in charge of giving signal to the waiter to serve the next dish while Liu Zijian was observing the different reactions of his soon-to-be wife.
'So she has that kind of expression, too.' He thought to himself as he saw her laughing making her eyes formed into an elegant crescent shape. Her lips that looked so soft broke into a genuine and carefree smile. It was contagious. He was unaware that his own lips curled up slightly.
While eating Liu Family decided to follow what Han Meixiu wanted for their wedding. She told them she would only invite Li Xiaozhi but Mr. Liu said Zhang Yu should be also informed. She simply agreed. The wedding would be on the following weekend for Xiaozhi to be able to attend and giving them enough time to finish what they should.
After the date has been finalized, they decided to hold the wedding in the soon-to-be opened island resort of Imperial Hotels that the Liu Family recently acquired. It's actually the perfect place to hold a private wedding ceremony as well as the reception afterwards. Invitations would only be sent to two people aside from the Liu's. Other necessary documentation for the event could be easily assigned to one of Mr. Liu's subordinates. The only left was the couple's wedding attire and the rings.
Madam Liu decided to accompany Han Meixiu to look for a suitable wedding dress that afternoon. Liu Zijian's participation would only be choosing a wedding ring with Meixiu and the wedding itself.
As their lunch was coming to an end, Madam Liu didn't forget to give the soon-to-be couple some more advice.
"Meixiu dear, you have to guard Little Zi against annoying flies. Even though he's normally repulsive and could scare them away, you will never know if a brave one would show up one day."
Han Meixiu never imagined someone would be brave enough to get close to this second young master of Liu Family, but then again the possibility might still exist. In response, she nodded. She was in fact wondering how she would guard him.
"And you Little Zi, never let anyone get close to you much more touch you. You already belong to someone." Though she knew her son, it's still not bad to be reminded with this.
"Mmm." He responded as he slowly lifted the silver dessert spoon. He wasn't that much interested in what they were talking about. The wedding for him was just another normal event he must attend. He's more interested in Han Meixiu's different reactions. So far he was actually entertained.
After their productive lunch together, both men went back to head chief's office while the women went out to look for a wedding dress.
Just when the father and son arrived at the office, Liu Zijian received a call from his older brother.
"Aren't you a little unfair? You'll get married before me!" He didn't forget to tease his younger brother as a greeting.
Liu Zijian only snorted before he asked, "When are you coming?"
"I'll be coming tonight. Mom said we're going to have dinner with your wife. I want to meet the woman you're going to trouble in the future." Liu Zilong answered.
As the brief call ended, Mr. Liu instructed his son to take a seat as he wanted to give some few words to him without Madam Liu around.
"Since you agreed to this, you must be sure to uphold until the end." Mr. Liu seriously said. "Han Meixiu's case is complicated. We are still investigating the disappearance of her parents. I believe she came here in K Country to start her own investigation. If you can try to make her give up as early as possible, do it - but in a subtle way."
"Okay." He's fully aware with the circumstances of Han Meixiu. He also has a rough idea why she joined the Imperial Hotel. But the information she could get there would just lead her to dead end. Given this, it wasn't bad to let her do it first and maybe she would give up voluntarily if she could not find any more leads.
"You're going to enter the married life. Might as well double check your priorities. Don't let anything happen to your wife." The last statement sounded heavy as both of them fell into silence. The father and son remembered that unfortunate incident when Mr. Liu extremely busied himself expanding their business empire and his mother disappeared.
Liu Zijian knew how his father blamed himself when Madam Liu was abducted. He was still so young that time and barely understood what was happening. He only remembered he was always with his brother and his father was restless the entire time. The image of Mr. Liu's bloodshot eyes, disheveled hair and unshaven face was vividly embedded in his memory. When they found her, his father almost lot his mind after seeing his mother's state. They almost lost her. When she recovered, though it was extremely slow, the men in Liu family had a tacit agreement that whatever she wanted to do or act they would support her as much as they could.
"As for the other details on how to treat a woman properly, you should ask your mom or better yet your brother." Mr. Liu added before he asked about other business related things.
The other two women were currently going to one of the most popular wedding boutique in the area. Though it might not be as big as the one in the capital, it's still a good shop to look around. Han Meixiu's originally assigned work as C&E representative was given to Qin Yijun by Madam Liu.
The Sales and Marketing representative gladly agreed as she thought she should leave a good impression to the owner of the hotel. She also took note to be always on the good side of Han Meixiu starting from today. As she was making her way to Sales & Marketing department, she was obstructed by an unfamiliar middle-aged man whom she thought was a guest so she smiled and readily excused herself.
"That young woman whom you've talked to, was she Han Meixiu?" He politely asked.
