Four hours earlier, Reynold is walking around the meat section looking for a target, while he is busy searching, Carl and his gang has blocked every exit and slowly walking to Reynold to corner him.
"I feel something is amiss, I have to go now," Reynold thought with a grim expression. As he was walking towards the exit, he spotted one of Carl's underlings approaching him, he ran towards another exit but the same scenario happens. "Shit! I'm cornered, I have to find a way to hide from them."
As Reynold is thinking how to escape from the predicament his in right now, he feels a blunt object hit his head, before he can turn around his vision blurred and he loses consciousness.
"Nice job boys, now carry his body to the alley around the corner, we will teach this bastard a lesson" command Carl to his underlings.
"Yes boss"
"Hahaha I can't wait to beat him up"

Reynold was awoken immediately when the water hits his face, he slowly opens his eyes, what comes to his view is Carl and his underlings looking at him with a grinned on their faces. He looked around, they are now in an alley, his hands are tied around his back and two boys are holding him so he can't run away.
"Surprise surprise, Reynold you didn't see this coming? You should predict this outcome the moment you mess with me!" Carl said while throwing punches to Reynold.
Pak! Pak! Pak!...
After being hit by Carl' punches Reynold felt pain around his face and the upper part of his body. After Carl is done throwing punches to Reynold, he turns around and waves his hands nonchalantly, while saying "He's all your boys, just make sure you don't kill him."
"Okay boss, But we will make that he can't be recognized after we are done with him"
After getting beat up Reynold can't be recognized anymore and he can barely open his eyes because of his swollen face, His nose is broken and he has many bruises all over his body, but he still lucky because not even one of his bones is broken.
"You better stay far away from our territory from now on, it's only a warning this time. The next time you mess with me I will break your arms and legs" threatened Carl after his underlings are done beating Reynold. "Let's go boys"
Looking at the back of Carl that is slowly fading, Reynold made an oath that he will make them pay double for what they did to him, and then he fainted.
After 3 hours, Reynold regains consciousness, he slowly tried to stand up, he musters all his strength to support his body to walk back to the old house. Reynold stops walking, he looks at the old house, when he's about to enter he lose consciousness once again because his body can't take it anymore.

Charlemagne takes care and treats the bruises and wounds of Reynold, he waits for him to wake up so he can ask what happens to him. After one hour of rest Reynold opens his eyes, then he slowly narrates to Charlemagne what happen to him in the marketplace earlier this morning.
"So Carl did this to you? Are you feeling better now?" Charlemagne asks while looking at his friends with a worried expression.
"Ye..Yess." Reynold weakly replied.
"We can't steal forever for a living, I have a plan in mind would you like to hear it?" said Charlemagne while looking at the sky through the holes of their ceiling. And he said with a determined expression. "Let's conquer dungeons!"
"Wha..whaa..what did you say??!"
"I said let's conquer dungeons. Let me finish first, in two weeks time the three schools of our kingdom will open their gates to recruit new students. The only requirements are you have to be seventeen years old or younger and have enough money for the tuition fee." Charlemagne said as he tries to convince his friend to enroll with him. " We can do hard labor to earn enough money for the tuition fee, we still have two weeks to work."
Looking at his friend speaking Reynold can see a glow in his sapphire-like eyes, he can see that's his friend is so determine to conquer dungeons, all he can do now is to support his friend and go together with him in every adventure that they will take.
"Okay okay I will go with you to apply to school, now you can start looking for a job first, while I will wait for my bruises and wounds to heal first before I can look for a job" Reynold replies to his friend while nodding his head.
They didn't know that this is the decision that makes them a legend in Mazmorra.

Later in the afternoon, Charlemagne started to find a job to save enough money, he found a restaurant that's looking for a garbage boy he applied for the job and he got the job. After 3 days the swollen face, bruises, and wounds of Reynold heal. He found a job in the same restaurant Charlemagne work for, but not a garbage boy but a dishwasher.
Days slowly pass by, tomorrow is the day the 3 schools open their gates for new students, Charlemagne and Reynold is so excited for tomorrow. After working for almost two weeks they save enough money and save a bit of money for their daily needs in school.
"Bro let's go to sleep, so we can wake up early in the morning and look at the 3 schools so we can decide where are we going to enroll." Charlemagne urged his friend while preparing his bed.
"Okay bro" replied Reynold.
"Lets conquer dungeons!"
