Contessa stopped trying to escape the second she felt the earth around her begin to shake. The dirt above the grave she was in rose up in the air and floated above her to reveal Zion standing alongside it with very stern, intensely red glowing eyes. Before Contessa could say anything, Zion doubled over and threw up a glowing green goo right into the grave and right onto Contessa.
Contessa's response was to curse first in Vampiric followed by curses in in 12 other languages. Being an immortal who had been around the globe a few times lent her to fluency in many languages as well as local dialects.
Zion wiped their mouth on their sleeve as they stood up again. "I'd apologize, but you did attempt to break the contract. I'm never sure if you think this time you're just somehow going to be smarter than me or you're really just that incapable of learning, but you never once have surprised me. And, it seems, I'm still surprising you."
"What happened to you? You look like a half used candle if the candle burned ectoplasm after it ran out of soul." Contessa's response to being caught was always mocking.
Zion's eyes began to emit a wispy, grey smoke. This smoke entered the ground and spiders began to crawl into Contessa's ears and nose. She may be immortal, but creepy crawly things were still gross. "I like you Contessa, but I'm in a really bad mood and it's ideal for both of us if you don't try to piss me off more." Zion said and then the spiders disappeared.
"Trouble with the ex?" Contessa coughed.
"Brillant deduction old chap. How'd you guess?" Zion said sarcastically.
"I never see you leak pre-soul unless Oby Don Juan Shinobi is involved." Contessa's wit was unmatched in at least 12 different dimensions.
Zion's serious and angry eyes melted into crying flames as they both laughed together.
After the final giggle had died down Contessa standing next to the the corpse formerly known as Nyx kicked the body lightly. "So I don't think it worked, because this isn't undead anymore, this is just regular dead."
"Oh no, it definitely worked, can't you feel it?" Zion asked with a look that could peer into someone's soul.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Contessa was confused.
Zion smirked and said "Nyx, come forth."
Contessa was going to look around, but instead she felt herself being pulled back to the lower reaches of her imagination until she was completely unconscious.

Lucky woke up in a daze. She hopped into the lab and started scurrying about stuffing items in her cheek pouches. When her cheeks became too full she'd hop into the center of the room and drop the items on the floor. Sometimes she would jump from the cabinets or the tables wiggling her tiny tail as she was sizing up the distance before backing up and belly flopping to the ground. Grabbing a piece of chalk in her mouth she dragged it around the item pile to make a circle. She then put her right tiny front paw in some white paste she scraped off a whetstone and then hopped over to the items with a mighty belly flop placing her paw in the center. Her eyes turned white and her breath turned to vapor as she chirped an eerie incantation.
White flames growing white smoke began to melt the items while Lucky remained unharmed. As the items burned away what was left behind was a white go piece.

Corvis, having a relapse, had been binge eating various magical things around the house. Being in Zion's den was akin to an alcoholic chilling at the bar. Corvis couldn't help himself. This gluttonous behavior would have continued had he not seen some delicious and powerful magic radiating from the lab.
This magic was so powerful he could even smell it. And, like moth to flame, Corvis instantly gravitated to it. He flew through the house and landed on his perch in the lab where he saw Lucky passed out in a magical circle with a white round object underneath her. He nudged Lucky out of the way with his beak and quickly gobbled up the white piece. Then he fell over fast asleep.

Cerberus didn't know where he was. There was white mist swirling all around him. He felt cold and where he was felt empty. Coming to his senses he began to wander around looking for something. He was stopped as he ran right into a mirror which looked like an ornate and elvish doorway. He did not realize it was a mirror because it didn't reflect him. Puzzled, he attempted to read the words inscribed around it.
Zion had, over the years, encouraged Cerberus to learn magical languages with some fluency, so he had a reasonable understanding of what the mirror said. But even this didn't illuminate him. The mirror didn't make sense.
Knowing he was indeed dealing with sophisticated magic he did what he knew to do, which was summon Zion. He grasped his collar and began to chant in an ancient and dead language.
