Chapter 2 - Kenneth The Bounty Hunter

"Let that vessel through, it checks out as a bounty hunter's ship!" shouted a marine officer to the grunts.

"Yes sir!" the grunts shouted back, as they moved their warship to the side to allow this vessel through onto the island.

"That flag looked very familiar, but a name does not come to mind?" one of the many deck hands on the ship were in a conversation with one another about the new arrival.

"I think I saw that flag in the newspaper, but when is a bounty hunter not in one of the big five, ever make the papers these days?" said another deck hand.

"Wait a minute, could that be his ship?" cried out a lieutenant.

"Lieutenant?" the deck hands watching as their lieutenant nervously watched the bounty hunter's vessel go by.

"What are you all staring at? Continue scrubbing before you lose your dinner privileges tonight!" shouted the lieutenant.

On the coastline of the island, the vessel ported and the bounty hunter walked off, carrying a dead pirate captain's corpse.

"Identification?" asked a marine soldier to this bounty hunter. "Wait, aren't you-?"

"Where is the Commodore who is in charge of this island?" asked the bounty hunter. Now that he was recognized by the marine, he didn't want to waste any more time.

"R-R-Right this way!" the marine soldier seeing the dead corpse on this man's back and recognizing who he was, scared him. He personally escorted this man to the marine base on this island.

"Oh? Why has this Kenneth character appeared on my base? Could he be trying to cause trouble for us again?" asked the Commodore to his scout.

"Sir, Kenneth is carrying a dead corpse which appears to fit this particular bounty poster. Please have a look." replied the scout as he gave his commander a bounty poster.

"Hmph, if it really is this pirate, Kenneth has earned his reward. With a bounty of fifty thousand gold coins, this pirate may have been low leveled, but, it would be unsafe for such a pirate to roam free in this area." said the Commodore.

"Since that is the case, send him in so that I can inspect the body. We need to make sure that if we are giving him a reward, that it is really the pirate on this poster."

"Yes sir!" replied the scout as he left the office to find Kenneth.

"I swear, if he tries to pull something like he did before, I will not allow him to live long enough to see the newspaper!" thought the Commodore.

Normally an officer at the Commodore in a weak little ocean area such as this, lived rather comfortably. It was a great way for officers more on the lazier side, to go into an early semi retirement.

Though, this Commodore was fairly lazy, now that he hasn't seen any action in quite a few years, he still needed to keep up his appearance as a noble marine officer!
