Mei Chen sat at the backseat again, her mind and her heart were both exhausted from feeling upset that she didn't realize that she had fallen asleep.
When she woke up, her swollen arm was carefully dressed and there's a cup of pudding and a bottle of water beside her.
"When did you....."
"Oh, you're already awake? Tut tut... Little Mei, you shouldn't be so defenseless. You're lucky it was me who's with you...."
Tony nagged. When he was treating her swollen arm, Mei Chen was sound asleep that she didn't even moved when he was wrapping her arm.
He got worried thinking about Mei Chen with other guys. He reckoned she would be easily get taken advantage of if she would stay careless.
Mei Chen instantly blushed hearing what Tony said. She admit that she had been laxed when she's with him.
She couldn't explain it, but she felt that she could trust him even though they just met after a long time.
"Help yourself with some pudding. It's your favorite right?"
Tony said while looking at the road, Mei Chen was surprised that Tony knows her favorite snack.
"How did you know?"
Mei Chen quizzically asked, she had never talked to Tony before so she knows that it is impossible for him to know what she likes.
"Never underestimate the observant skills of a timid guy."
He honestly replied to her.
Little did she know was during the times they had shared the same table every lunchtime Tony would often observe his comrade's eating habits.
He find out that whenever Little Mei ate pudding she would smile so wide like she was having the best day of her life.
Like she didn't experience the intense bullying from her classmates on the way to the cafeteria.
Their pantry pudding would sell out so fast, that's why as soon as the school bell rang he would run towards the pantry and would buy two sets of pudding.
The servers would keep the pudding and would put it on the counter when it was Mei Chen's turn.
Mei Chen didn't know, she always think that she's lucky she would always get the last piece of her favorite snack.
Tony had asked the servers at the cafeteria to keep it a secret from little Mei, they all find his gesture sweet and romantic that they agreed to always keep a cup of pudding for Mei Chen.
For Tony, it was just like a little token of their silent friendship. Seeing Little Mei smile made him feel like he too could survive the dark days of his youth.
When Mei Chen moved to a different school, he felt lonely and alone that he had convinced his parents to let him live with his grandparents.
