Chapter 2 - His Highness' Laughter

"There's no need, I heard it all."

Before the Seventh Prince could move, an old voice was heard speaking outside, "Alice, with this, you've truly contributed much to the Wodehaus royal family.

"I thank you."

"Father, you're being far too kind. I'm merely doing what's expected of me." Alice lowered her head shyly.

At that moment, Randt moved his body as he carefully observed the people around him.

The first person he saw was the man who had somehow become his father just like that.

However, that cheap father of his immediately shocked Randt's 'little' heart.

The Seventh Prince was a full two-and-a-half meters tall. That, along with his stubbled face and the greatsword hanging from his waist made him even more terrifying than a wild grizzly bear.

At that moment, he stood behind an old man in a wheelchair.

Judging from the frame of the old man's body, he probably had quite the imposing figure in his youth. The shape of his face, along with his features looked just like that of his cheap father — extremely strong-willed. This was clearly a man disabled in body but not in heart.

"Alice, just what would our boy, the pride of the Magic World, accomplish in the future?"

The Old Emperor on the wheelchair asked curiously.

Mages on this continent were divided into five main levels.

Respectively, these were the Apprentice Mage, Beginner Mage, Intermediate Mage, Advanced Mage, Beginner Warlock, Intermediate Warlock, Advanced Warlock, Beginner Sorcerer, Intermediate Sorcerer, Advanced Sorcerer, Sorcerer King, Sorcerer Regent, Sorcerer Emperor, Sorcerer Saint, and Sorcerer God.

"Father, it's impossible for a human to be born with mind essence ripples that can be so clearly detected.

"It's quite rare even among us elves.

"I may be a princess of Elven Royalty, but when I was born, my mind essence ripples weren't even as strong as his are.

"Judging by the way things are now, this little guy's accomplishments in magic will reach my level at the very least."

Alice declared proudly.

"Huh... So are you saying that our little magic prodigy here will be at least as powerful as an Advanced Sorcerer in the future?

"Goodness, this is a blessing of the Light God unto our house of Wodehaus!

"That's great, Alice! It's all thanks to you. I've decided to have a banquet and invite everyone when this little guy turns one month old. We'll let all those old geezers know that we, the Ran family, have sired a magic prodigy!

"Hahaha..."

The Old Emperor laughed heartily and waved his hand at the servants beside him to wheel him away.

...

A month passed in the blink of an eye.

Throughout the past thirty days, Randt eavesdropped on the conversations around him and found out that he had not gone to Heaven after all. Instead, he had arrived at a continent on another world and had even become part of the royal family there.

The monarch of the Reyrano Empire he was currently residing in was already a whopping one hundred and thirty years old.

However, since this world had an abundance of spiritual energy, the average human was able to live up to a hundred and fifty years.

Of these, the more accomplished Mages and Warriors could even live for several centuries.

The Old Emperor had produced ten sons over his lifetime, and Randt's father was the seventh. He was also the only one of the princes who cared naught about political power and focused only on the level of his martial arts.

That was why the entire Reyrano Empire was more or less in the hands of the other nine princes. Randt's father was the only one who did not even have an ounce of actual influence.

However, that was not a bad thing. At least his father lived happily every single day and did not have to concern himself with politics. All he had to do was to focus all his attention on his martial arts training.

However, the coincidence that had to be mentioned was that in the past month, Randt's parents had actually discussed the matter and decided to name him Randt. What a coincidence it was for him to actually end up with the exact same name as the one he had in his past life.

At the same time, the full moon's banquet that the Old Emperor had mentioned a month ago was also being held today.

Since he was a member of royalty, Randt's full moon banquet was extremely lavish. Not only did all the royals and officials attend, but even the monarchs of neighboring countries brought their queens along to congratulate them in person.

Among these guests was another extremely important person — Reyrano Empire's Archbishop, Jeffrey.

However, that annoying man picked a fight as soon as he arrived, claiming that the young hero of today's banquet had a scent of evil and an unclean soul.

Alice was so angry that she nearly pulled out her staff and reduced that clueless man into ashes.

Thankfully, there were others around them who hurriedly tried to smooth things over. It was thanks to them that this incident was nipped in the bud before it got out of control.

To add to that, although the generous Randt was also annoyed, there was nothing he could do. After all, he was still extremely young and could not make himself out to be too exceptional.

Otherwise, he would have definitely whipped out his little 'water gun' and sprayed that man's face full of 'holy water'. (Editor's Note: Author are you serious, peeing in his face? Lmaoz.)

Soon, the time came for little Randt to rest after the noble ladies had their fair share of fussing over him.

After Alice fed him his milk, she got the servants to bring him back to their chambers and lull him to sleep.

Naturally, Randt was not that obedient a child. Although he looked like he was sleeping, he had in fact entered a state of meditation.

Over the past month, he had stayed by Alice's side, day and night. Hence, he had long since secretly learned to meditate.

After all, he had been a prodigy in archeology in the past life, so he had done a great deal of research into these unfamiliar and difficult incantations.

That was the reason why he finally understood the incantation for meditation after he stuck by Alice for some time and thought it over repeatedly.

The way Randt saw it, since he had somehow ended up in this world, he might as well get accustomed to it as best as he could.

After all, if one wanted to survive in an unfamiliar environment, they would have to do everything within their power to get accustomed to this world, rather than demanding that the world get accustomed to them.

This was something that Randt had already engraved into his bones as an orphan in his past life.

That was why when he realized that he had come to this world, Randt decided that he would not mope around. Instead, he was going to find a way to continue living before looking for a way home.

Still, how was he to get back?

Randt had asked himself that question countless times.

However, he never did come up with a satisfactory answer.

So he decided to survive in order to keep hope alive, so that he may one day, find a way back.

Randt believed that with his wits and intelligence, he would be able to cultivate the magic and aura systems of this world with no problem whatsoever.

After all, he had deciphered many books about magic from those ancient documents in his past life.

Among these, he could even still remember many complete incantations from back then. The only problem was that Earth did not have any spiritual power elements, rendering those incantations useless by themselves.

Now, things were different. Here in this place where spiritual energy elements were abundant, he could practice the incantations he could never use before.

"Hahaha..."

When he thought of that, Randt could not help but laugh internally from being secretly pleased.

However, his laugh gave the servant beside him a huge shock.

She was stunned for a moment, and then she cried out in surprise, yelling excitedly, "Oh~ my god, His Highness laughed.

"Praise the Lord above, His Highness isn't mute, thank goodness!"
