On a sunny monday morning, Thufrat rose at the crack of dawn as usual. After cleaning himself up, he trained some in the small yard he had been assigned and then ate some breakfast. As he passed by the servants and some low-level members of the family, almost everyone greeted him with respect and reverence. To these people, Thufrat had shown his prowess through his daily training sessions with the young teens of the Windrunner family.
After his breakfast, he waltzed to one of the family's training grounds, and then started his work for the day. Like this, another day passed by in peace, yet Thufrat was just as sad as any other day. Ark had been comatose for more than 2 months, and the longer he was comatose, the worse off his injuries would be when he woke up. After dining with some aqcuintances he had met in the large mansion, Thufrat walked back to the shed that Ark was resting in. Seeing the wolf still in ethereal sleep, Thufrat couldn't help but be down. This was his fault, after all, if he had not been weak, Ark wouldn't have had to sacrifice anything at all to try and save him.
Thufrat was disappointed in his former self, and in these 2 months, Thufrat had gotten a lot stronger compared to then. He had been training his manipulation of earth, his control over strength, as well as training his physical body. He had also taken quests from the guild and gained a few levels. Even though he looked the same on the surface, compared to two months ago, he was nearly double as strong. If before he was an unpolished gem, then he was now something worthy of buying in a small store for pretty cheap. He had polished the skills and assets that he had, but he was still far from perfect.
After a while, the sun was beginning to set, and another day of Thufrat's bland life would soon be over. As he was about to return to his own little residence, a strong gust of wind almost knocked him off his feet! Stabilizing his body before he fell, Thufrt was on high-alert! Wind like that didn't come out of just anywhere, this was definitely the work of magic! Seeing magic disturb Ark's rest, Thufrat was livid!
Before he had the chance to look around, another strong gust of wind battered his body again. After that, the wind kept appearing over and over again, in a steady rhythm. It didn't take long for Thufrat to notice something was wrong. After looking around for a few seconds, Thufrat was heavily shocked! This wind was the results of Ark breathing! This made Thufrat both ecstatic and a little worried.
It seemed that Ark was finally going to wake up! After 2 months without anyone to really talk to, Thufrat had noticed that he was really reliant on Ark's company. After finally getting a friend, letting that friend go would be the hardest task imaginable for someone like him. The part that worried Thufrat was that Ark's mere breaths contained such destructive power, there was obviously something wrong. Before long, the destructive wind started going out of control. Everything inside of the shed was smashed to pieces one after the other as the wind swept over the place, leaving nothing in its path.
As the wind rampaged about, Ark was still lying down on the ground in the shed, but no longer peaceful like before. His pained expression was only getting worse and worse as time passed. The mana in the air was in a frenzy. Not just the wind, all the different elements just wanted to go on a rampage and destroy everything in their path, but this was the Windrunner family. The wind elements in the air were abundant, while the concentration of the other elements was far less in comparison. This was a tactical advantage since the descendants of the Windrunner family all used the wind to their advantage.
This gave them more power while making other people invading their home less powerful since they had to use the other elements, that were suppressed. As the wind grew fiercer and fiercer, it slowly turned into a tornado, and it didn't take long for the harsh wind to completely demolish the little shed he was in. Thufrat was flung backward by the wind, and he was currently very anxious, he had no idea how he was supposed to react to such a predicament. Before long, the tornado had gone completely out of control.
Thufrat tried to use his own earth mana to calm the tornado down, but all it resulted in was a backlash in the form of a blade of wind flying at him at amazing speeds. An attack like this was easily resisted with the help of his earth mana, but that didn't change the fact that the wind was going out of control. This didn't only concern Ark, if this tornado went out of control, then it could easily hurt innocent people.
The slow accumulation of wind suddenly burst with renewed vigor, sending dust and rocks flying everywhere. The tornado started to rapidly expand once more, quickly turning into a behemoth towering over the mansion. This was obviously noticed by the inhabitants of Frostfell, as well as the Windrunners. Before long, numerous young men and women crowded around the tornado, trying to figure out what was going on. This agitated the wind elements even more, and the tornado grew even bigger,
The destructive aura of the tornado weighed heavily on the young people present. In fact, the aura was so heavy that they couldn't even move. All they could do was watch as the tornado kept growing in size, slowly but surely dragging them towards its depths. If they entered that tornado for even a second, then they would die for sure. Before anything bad happened, numerous elderly and middle-aged people showed up on the scene. What was extraordinary about all these people was that they were all standing solemnly in the air, watching the tornado.
After giving each other knowing looks, the numerous people all started to coerce the wind to do their bidding. Even though the wind was being controlled by Ark subconsciously, these people were all masters of wind and didn't let it rampage any further. Pooling their auras together, all they had to do was emit pressure to get the tornado to shrink back in fear. The young family members all let out sighs of relief, if the elders didn't show up, then they would surely be done for.
Unfortunately for them, the danger wasn't as easily avoided as they believed...
