Ark wasn't really sure what they would make him do in this organization in the beginning, and to be frank, he was a little nervous. Even though he could leave Torment of the Fallen if he wanted to since it wasn't against the blood contract, he wasn't sure how these people would react, and he didn't know if he could beat them in a fight or not. Besides, Thufrat seemed to have hit it off with these people as well.
"So, can you give me some details?" Ark asked politely, or at least he thought he did, he didn't get to talk to a lot of people and wasn't that good at talking politely, or at all for that matter.
Before the leader could respond, the man that resembled a snake cut in.
"Don't you think that's a little rude? At the very least call him sir, you're a part of this squad now, act like it!"
Ark was a little surprised, but he quickly realized his situation.
"Ehmm, sorry, I don't really know formalities that well, sorry if I offended anyone!" He quickly responded.
The leader nodded as he heard this, he also thought that Ark was a little rude, but knowing it wasn't on purpose cleared his mind a little.
"Don't worry about it, as for the details, we'll talk about them somewhere more appropriate. As he said this, the leader started to follow a path that branched away from Fairmond, and everyone quickly followed him.
They followed this path for almost an entire hour before they arrived at a new city. This one was a little bigger than Fairmond in size, but it wasn't as active, and the population wasn't as high. This city's name was Everwick. Everwick only had 2 gates, compared to Fairmonds 4. This time, no problems arose, and they all entered the city after another 10 minutes. The only reason it took so long was that Ark didn't have any identification papers, but he was quickly issued new ones.
After they went through the gate, the party of 7 made their way to one of the city's inns. It was reasonably cheap, only costing a few bronzes per night for lodging, food was extra. Once they got into a room, they all stood around a table that was situated in the middle of the room.
"Since we're all going to be a part of the same team, we should all introduce ourselves!" The leader said before explaining anything about the mission.
"I'll start, my name is Ulfig, my class is Berserker, and I'm the leader of this party!"
After Ulfig introduced himself, the rest just went on introducing themselves. The first one up was the guy whose face resembled that of a snake.
"My name is Gilpin, my class is Shadow Assasin!"
The guy with the dark hair looked a little uninterested, but he introduced himself nonetheless.
"Yo, the name's Reyner, my class is Dark Knight."
Next up was the female wind mage.
"Hello, my name's Adeline, I'm a Wind Mage, nice to meet you!"
The lady with the fiery hair was the last one from Torment of the Fallen to introduce herself.
"Hi, my name is Eliryll, I'm an Elemental Rogue. I'm also a half-elf!"
As she said this, both Thufrat and Ark was a little stunned, they had just assumed her to be human, but underneath all that fiery red hair, you could actually see a pair of pointy ears. Eliryll was actually a little nervous when she said this, half-elves were looked down on by both humans and elves alike, and she didn't know what these people would think.
Luckily for her, both Ark and Thufrat couldn't care less about someone's race, I mean Ark was a wolf after all, and Thufrat was still his friend.
Up next was Thufrat.
"Hello, my name is Thufrat, as you can see I'm a dwarf, and I'm also a Warrior, with some earth magic at my disposal!" Even if the earth magic wasn't the strongest, Thufrat was actually pretty proud of the fact that he could use magic.
Last but not least was Ark.
"Hello, my name's Ark and I'm a Magical Spearman!" Even though he used primarily magic, in his human form, Ark would opt to use his skill [Holy Spear: Dawn], therefore this class seemed like the best cover for him.
"I've never heard of that class before..." Gilpin said under his breath, as he eyed Ark a little.
The people from Torment of the Fallen looked a little skeptical as they heard this, none of them had ever heard of this class. But the world was a big place, and none of them would dare say that they know all the classes out there, therefore they just stopped thinking about it.
"Well, since that is out of the way, let's get to talking about our mission!" As Ulfig said this he took out a map from his bag and put on the table.
"We got a tip that some wanted slave-merchants are going to be passing through this city later today. These slave-merchants have been selling humans and demi-humans for quite some time now. The only reason they have been getting away with it for this long is that they have some contacts inside the holy church, namely a deacon called Augur." The leader explained patiently, but no matter how hard he tried to hide it, all of the people present could see how angry he was.
He didn't stop there though. "This mission is going to be done tonight, under the cover of the night. Since they have contacts, they are going to be disguised as legit merchants, which means we're going to have to take them out without anyone noticing, to avoid trouble."
"Everyone who can use darkness magic is going to infiltrate their hideout, while the rest of us distract them. That's the basic plan, we are going to have a meeting now though to make changes and assign roles. We don't want to mess this up!" As Ulfig said the last part, he was clenching his hands hard.
