Since Ark was in charge of taking down the small fries, he needed to give the dwarf some space to face the commander. He instantly dashed out as fast as he could and sent out a massive amount of light from his body, due to the skeletons low Iq, they instantly determined him to be the biggest threat, and started to attack him. The archers and magicians attacked from a distance while the vanguard tried to close in on him. As he didn't want to get distracted while he faced the vanguard, Ark decided to take out the backline first.
As arrows whistled past him, he activated his magic barrier instantly and tried to get closer. He noticed that a part of the vanguard was less populated, and decided to make a break for it. Five skeleton warriors instantly appeared in front of him, and Ark instantly condensed a ton of light Mana in his claws as he slashed out. They were all instantly eviscerated as he made his way towards the magicians. As he attacked he managed to get grazed by an arrow that drew a thin line of blood on his left cheek.
As he felt a slight pain on his face, Ark didn't hesitate to increase his speed a bit more. As this was happening, Thafrut had started his battle with the High Skeleton. As he took out the Warhammer from his back, the High Skeleton took the chance to thrust its broadsword toward his chest. Thufrat grinned a little as the ground the skeleton was standing on suddenly shifted, making it lose its footing. As he saw the opening, Thufrat strengthened his body with earth magic and swung his Warhammer at the skeleton.
The air whistled as the Warhammer was about to crush the skeleton to smithereens. The skeleton, seeing this, put one of its hands on the ground, and pushed as hard as it could.
BANG!
The Warhammer hit the ground as rock and dirt scattered everywhere, and the skeleton flew backward without taking any damage whatsoever. Thafrut was a bit annoyed that his plan didn't work, but he decided to just go on the offensive since that was his strong point. He brought his Warhammer over his head and then used one of his own unique skills called [Hammer Of Destruction], swinging the hammer down, it brought with it a large shockwave that headed straight for the High Skeleton. The skeleton was pretty slow in normal cases, and this attack brought a great amount of pressure, making it hard to dodge. Therefore the skeleton decided to meet it with one of its own skills. Its broadsword started to shine a scarlet red, much like its armor, as it swung the broadsword with both hands.
The collision of energies disrupted the surroundings immensely and brought about a large blast, shooting out in all directions. Ark, not expecting this amount of power, was thrown a bit off course, luckily, the other skeletons were worse off, some of them tumbling to the ground. Thafrut's attack wasn't as simple as it seemed though, as a large amount of energy was traveling underground. The skeleton wasn't alert enough to notice, and it was sent lying when a large spike made out of earth suddenly erupted from underneath it. The skeleton managed to at least lessen the penetrative power of the attack by bracing itself and using its sword to take it head-on.
As the skeleton whistled through the air, it suddenly came to an abrupt end when it crashed straight into a tree. As Thafrut saw this, he gloated a little, when he suddenly heard a few sounds from behind him. He abruptly turned around to notice a multitude of dark orbs as well as a few arrows crashing straight into a light barrier that erupted out of nowhere in front of him. Seeing this, he stopped gloating and grew a little more serious, he also shot an appreciative glance at Ark, since the wolf had obviously helped him out.
Ark only answered with a slight nod as he went back to fighting his enemies. During the fight between Thafrut and the Skeleton commander, Ark was busy with his own fight, and he had so far killed about 40 out of the 100 or so skeletons. As he started to grow a little restless, he decided to use a large-scale move, and then help the dwarf out with his fight. But, alas, not everything goes as expected. When he was least expecting it, Ark suddenly felt a sudden piercing pain in his left hind-leg, sending him tumbling into the ground.
A skeleton archer had managed to get a lucky shot that penetrated straight through his leg, crippling his movement. He instantly started healing it with light magic, but he had the fight to fight, and he could only persevere through the pain, as he quickly got on his feet. The skeletons didn't wait for him to make his move and were instantly upon him, with all kinds of attacks. Being wounded and surrounded, Ark decided to go all out, and he activated his [Envoy Of Light] skill for the first time.
As he chanted the name in his head, the light Mana in the surroundings suddenly seemed to be in a frenzy as it surged toward him. A blinding light shot out of Ark's body as the fur on his body started to grow larger, and he turned entirely white. He had a glowing golden halo hovering above his head, and the air around him seemed to be that of a divinity.
All Ark felt was a large amount of Mana and power surging through his body, and as he was surrounded by enemies, he didn't waste a single second as he started his counterattack. He condensed a massive amount of swords made out of light magic, as they hovered in the air, they seemed like holy swords, waiting to descend onto the earth. The skeletons around him wanted to attack him, but they couldn't even move because of the amount of light magic in the surroundings.
[Descend]
As he thought this, the massive amount of swords started to rain down on the skeletons in the surroundings. As they were inherently weak to the light element, not a single skeleton could stop Ark from reaping them of their pitiful existence. As Thafrut and the skeleton commander saw this, they were both dumbfounded, who exactly was this wolf? And how did it suddenly grow so powerful?
As the skeleton wasn't an intelligent living being, it didn't have as much of a reaction as Thafrut did, and it used the opening that Thafrut showed while he was dumbfounded to make a devastating attack. This time, the sword didn't glow red, instead, it became as black as the night. The skeleton brought its sword overhead and then slashed out horizontally twice.
As Thafrut came back to reality, he looked toward the skeleton and was greeted by the sight of a pitch-black cross flying at him at astonishing speed. Since he wielded a very heavy weapon, he didn't have the time to create any counterforce and just put up his Warhammer in front of himself as a defense. As expected, this wasn't going to help much, and he was sent flying through the air, spitting out a large amount of blood.
This attack was all that was needed to take Thafrut out of the game for now, and there was only Ark and the High Skeleton left. But the skeleton was out of luck, Ark was an existence that the skeleton couldn't even come close to at the moment.
When Ark shifted his gaze to the skeleton commander, he suddenly gathered most of the remaining mana in his body, as well as the Mana in the surroundings. He then somehow created a weird spear made out of light. This spear didn't really look like the normal condensation of Mana, it looked more like an actual, real, holy weapon. The spear suddenly started spinning at an enormous speed, creating a piercing sound that reverberated in the jungle.
SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!
The spear suddenly zoomed past and collided heavily with the skeleton, it didn't even have a chance to react before it got obliterated. Thafrut was a bit astounded once again, was this really the skeleton that had just heavily injured him? he didn't get to ponder much though since he suddenly passed out. The funny thing, however, was that Ark was even more dumbfounded. He had no idea what he had just done, it was like he suddenly lost control of his body, and it suddenly did something extraordinary.
He put this at the back of his mind for a moment though, as there were more pressing matters at hand. In the fight just now, Ark had gotten an astonishing 6 levels. He didn't hurry to put any points into any attribute though since he had just participated in an intense battle, and he wasn't clearheaded enough to make important decisions like those if he had the chance to wait.
He cast a glance at the dwarf that lay unconscious on the ground and started to get a little worried. Since they had just fought together, he felt like they had a small little bond between them, and he didn't want to see the guy just die like that. He noticed quickly after some observation that the dwarf wasn't dead, but he was in a very bad condition.
If Ark just left him here, the dwarf would undoubtedly die, since other monsters would come here and prey on him. Thinking like this, Ark walked up to the dwarf and tossed him onto his back, then he used some light magic to keep his vitals safe, and walked off into the distance...
