Right now, two out of the 3 advance armies were still able to continue on with the campaign. It was a good thing that Wang Jian acted quickly and sent a few of his men to send some messages back to the capital base to send more men and weapons to the front lines. From then on, Lian Po only had to wait for a few days before he received the extra reinforcements and no longer had to end his campaign earlier than he thought. Another thing that Wang Jian had done was to have a lot of soldiers take control of the bases that had been taken over by the three armies. This allowed the Yellow Wang faction to effectively take control of the region if they were able to keep a tight grip of the area.
There was one thing that was on all of the strategists' minds, why did the Sun Alliance send an army that was not as numerous as their enemies? Were they that confident in their own abilities that they chose to do it this way or was it something else? This was the case for all 3 armies that were sent to meet the 3 armies of Wang Jian, Lun Hu and Ya Guang, and Lian Po. The reinforcements that Wang Jian requested were divided up into two groups, one for Lian Po which took up the majority and another for the all-stars army which comprised of the rest.
All 3 armies pressed on at full speed to the ultimate target, the capital base of the Sun Alliance. Around this time, Bai Qi left with his army and vassals to join in on the fight. This was an impromptu action, but they all figured if they were able to take care of the Sun Alliance now, then all the better. It took him almost two weeks to catch up with the others, but once he was there, he spearheaded the advance and was the closest one to the capital base. He was situated between the all-stars and Wang Jian.
What happened next was something of a shock to all of the strategists involved on the Yellow Wang faction side. They were all encircled by 3 armies each. Normally, this would be nothing more than a hindrance to try and stall for time, but this time was a bit different. The Sun Alliance had spent a lot of their resources into this maneuver, essentially throwing the majority of their forces into this battle intending to win. It did not matter that they were perhaps overspending, but to them, taking out three out of the 4 leaders of the Yellow Wang faction. The all-stars would be the cherry on top of the cake.
Lian Po, Wang Jian, Bai Qi and all of the all-stars knew that they were the target of such an outrageous plan. What could they do at this point other than fight with everything that they have got? The fight dragged on for days on end, but with their supply lines cut by the encircling forces of the Sun Alliance, supplies were running out with each and every passing day. The Yellow Wang faction top brass knew that it would not be a smart idea to drag this on any longer than it had to and so they doubled down and did everything in their power to escape or cripple their enemy.
It was a tough fight, but eventually, Wang Jian managed to break free and within the span of 2 days managed to bait and trap all 3 enemy armies and devastate them that they were not able to recover. After his amazing feat, Wang Jian split up his forces into two, he would lead one to rescue Bai Qi and the other one would go in to reinforce Lian Po. His army was trained from day one to execute orders to a tee and drills were done with such intensity and strictness that they could do a lot of maneuvers blindfolded. This was why Wang Jian allowed his soldiers to be separated and without him at all.
Bai Qi was the ally that was closer to Wang Jian's original position so he was able to receive his allies' help first. It did not take long before Bai Qi was rescued and out of harm's reach. However, what was different was that the enemy willingly chose to run away instead of face two of the leaders of the Yellow Wang faction. A smart decision, whoever was leading those 3 armies. Lian Po was on the verge of collapsing as his army had gotten the most troublesome opponent out of everyone and he cursed his luck. Once his enemies had to deal with Wang Jian's reinforcements, they took a long time before they finally fell to Lian Po's strategies and might.
There was one more group still under the constant barrage of enemies and that was the all-star group. Unfortunately, none of their masters came to save them, and they guessed right from the very beginning, so all they could do was continue on fighting. All of them understood that emotions on the battlefield were a no go, it was far more efficient to go straight to the capital base rather than waste time and resources trying to save them. At first, they went about the battlefield conservatively as they had no idea who they were really up against. It could be Li Guang, it could be one of the inner circle members or even groups.
Once their food started running out though, they had to go for more risky plays. By the end of the first week, all of the fighter strategists were fighting full time on the frontlines. Even Ya Guang and Lun Hu. That was just how dire the situation was. Temporary control of the army was given to Xuan Feng to manage as the two of them were too busy slaying enemies. By the end of the second week, bad news turned to worse news as another enemy reinforcement came out of nowhere and started to pile on the attacks to the all-stars army. Just a few days later, with virtually no food left, all of the all-stars were slain or taken prisoner.
