There were mainly only 5 factions left still vying for supremacy in the Sun Alliance land tournament. Now, the biggest contender would have to be the Bair fighters as they were the ones who had the most resources out of everyone remaining. This coupled with the fact that they were prone to make moves that left everyone speechless. The other four factions: the Yellow Wang faction, the Sun Alliance, Middle Kingdom faction, and the last coalition of factions aptly named, the Leftovers. Representatives from all 4 of these factions got together to form an alliance that would benefit all. One of the only terms was that all 4 of them would stock up on supplies and launch an all-out attack on the Bair fighters when the time came. There was no room for failure.
At present, there was an unspoken rule where there would be no fighting, all sides were preparing their best strategy and defenses at the moment. This was the case for the next 3 months and all the while, no one really made a serious move against the other. The main reason for this being that snow was falling on the ground, and although it didn't affect fighting much, everyone would rather go at it when conditions were perfect. Still though, seeing snow inside a controlled simulation was definitely a rare sight. For historical sims though, they were actually quite common. Finally, the time had come for the team-up against the Bair fighters. Such a grand battle would require many, many soldiers to gather together to fight alongside one another.
This was no ordinary battle that was about to take place, for one, there were four groups targeting the Bair fighters, but no one was really sure who would end up prevailing. Second, the sheer scale of warfare that would be going on would be absolutely mindboggling. The Bair fighters had the most amount of land, but that could be considered a disadvantage as it was bordering the other four factions. Since this was the case, the 4 other factions took the chance to invade all at once, in every possible direction that they could to guarantee maximum destruction.
The coalition of the super factions had an estimated 75 million participants on their side. Meanwhile, no one was really sure what the number of soldiers the Bair fighters had. This didn't really matter to the coalition though as all they had to do was kill as many enemy soldiers as they could, destroy as many enemy military aircraft as they could, and take over as many bases and strongholds as they could. One thing that really boggled the minds of the strategists everywhere was that the Bair fighters were able to train so many of the simulation strategists to become as good if not even better than a regular strategist.
This was no easy feat as there were just 5 of the Bair fighters, this said, what other secrets were they hiding? For the first month or so, the coalition did all they could do to strike deep into the Bair fighter's territory. So far the 4 Yellow Wang faction leaders were having the most success with this endeavor, followed closely by the Sun Alliance elders and inner circle who had come to play with the Bair fighters. The Middle Kingdom and the Leftovers were having a bit of trouble, but they were able to progress at a steady pace. All in all, the coalition split up their forces into hundreds of smaller individual forces to take over as many bases and strongholds as they could.
However, through all of this fighting, they had not even caught a glimpse of the Bair fighters themselves. Sure their bases along the way were top-notch in every possible way, but without the 5 Bair fighters at the helm, they would be sure to lose sooner or later. It didn't matter now, all the coalition had to do was to keep moving forward. Through forests and mountains, through marshes and valleys, the coalition was able to get closer and closer to the capital base. Once the Sun Alliance and the Yellow Wang faction was confident that they would get to the capital base soon, they sent a portion of their armies along with multiple skilled strategists to assist their alliance members attacking from the North and South.
After another two months of continuous fighting, all four of the coalition members were right at the doorstep of the capital base of the Bair fighters. Even after coming all this way, the Bair fighters were nowhere to be seen. Everyone had their doubts and guesses as to what the Bair fighters were planning, but they all knew one thing, that the Bair fighters surely had something up their sleeve to allow them to come so close to victory. However, what exactly, were they supposed to do even if they all knew it was a trap? Just pack up and go home? Highly unlikely.
Once all of them met up outside the capital base, they took the time to properly prepare their army for possibly one of the most important battles that they would ever have to fight. First, though, they had to take a tally of how many soldiers they had left. Surprisingly, they had only lost 10 million soldiers in total. This was a far cry from what they had expected with some of the high ranking officers believing that they would lose over half of their army to get to this point that they were in right now. However, the reason for their estimates being so off was that they had predicted the Bair fighters to show up somewhere along the way to wreak havoc, but that hasn't happened.
The troops that numbered almost 65 million surrounded the capital base of the Bair fighters and began setting up camp. All of the top brass of the coalition agreed that allowing the men to rest for one day was for the best as they had been pushed to fight for the past two months almost non-stop. In just a few more days or weeks, the capital base of the Bair fighters might fall to the coalition.
