Zhang Da Zhi, Baron, Guan Yu, Yue Fei, and multiple other alliance heads were all gathered around to discuss the possibility of a multi-alliance coalition. So far, things weren't going that smoothly.
(ZDZ) "Of course I know, that's why I want it. Let me give you a bit of free intel, Baron, Yue Fei, and Guan Yu. Xuan Feng's so-called closest allies are 3 individuals all of whom are at least of his level in skill. Even if they do not bring their personal armies with them, they would be able to wipe out your entire army in a few hours if they wanted to." Zhang Da Zhi now resorted to using scare tactics, although everything he said was mostly true, it was a bit exaggerated.
(YF) "How can we trust you?" Yue Fei asked slowly.
(QJG) "Well, I don't want to be rude to you especially considering what had happened last time… But you must know that your group is one of the only ones left that are not aware of how the big factions function. Though that isn't required to do well in the tournament, this kind of info is important." Qi Ji Guang responded.
"I agree with that sentiment."
"Seriously, this is precious stuff."
(BM) "Tell me this then, how many of his closest allies will he be bringing along with him," Baron asked.
(ZDZ) "Heh, I suppose I'll give you an answer. 3. That's likely how many he will be bringing along with him. Though Xuan Feng is more skilled than all of them in terms of tactics, he is useless when it comes to fighting that's why he has a ton of guards with him all the time."
(BM) "That does ring a bell."
(ZDZ) "His allies are another story. All three of them are extremely skilled in one area of close quarter combat. Lun Hu is a specialist of the sword, Jiang Yan of the bow, and Jie Zi Fang of the glaive. The four of them together are Lian Po's all-star lineup. They even give me the shivers, you are screwed if you can't get us together with you. What is your next move?"
(BM) "How about this, unlimited use of that gun, and if anyone is able to slay one of Lian Po's 4 generals, then I'll give you the blueprints."
(ZDZ) "I'm in, this is exactly what I wanted from the beginning. Anyone else?"
"Yeah sure, I was just about to ask one of you to do a merger with me anyways."
"Count me in, I always wanted to see just how powerful these all-stars were."
With this, the deal was sealed. 4 alliances got together to combat one common army, Xuan Feng and his allies. Baron and Zhang Da Zhi were elected equal partners. The reason that the other two alliances didn't have one of their members up there was that they were the weaker of the four alliances and now, they were under the complete control of Baron and Zhang Da Zhi. This was not the ideal situation for them, but who were they to complain if they were under the supervision of strategists much higher than them in terms of skill.
Not to mention, if this coalition was successful in repelling or even decimating Xuan Feng's forces, then the reputation that would come along with it would be something that none of them could imagine. Everyone got to work and pooled all of their resources to set up a battle that would be the most advantageous for them, sparing nothing so that if they failed, they would surely know that there was absolutely nothing they could've have prepared better for.
Three months of this frantic scrambling around mass producing weapons, artillery, traps, vehicles of war, etc. Then, Baron got a letter from a messenger that belonged to Xuan Feng addressing the upcoming battle. It's contents read that the time was up and that he would be coming with his full army and his closest allies. The only other thing it contained was a request to send him a letter through his messenger a location that they would be able to do battle. Baron quickly wrote a response and handed it to the messenger who promptly left.
This upcoming battle would be at the very edge of a mountain where there were many places to place traps and sentries, and most importantly, Roxi. Everything was now essentially set up, the only thing was that they were still waiting for a few more military aircraft to get made. Other than that, there was not much they could do except begin thinking about all of the strategies that they would be able to use to best take out their enemies.
A scout that Zhang Da Zhi had sent to keep an eye on the arrival of Xuan Feng made his way back to his master at record time to give his findings. Apparently, the army that would be coming would have nearly 150,000 soldiers, as suspected by Baron. This figure was what they focused their minds on for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, another messenger came to inform them of more bad news. Another group was seen heading out of the Yellow Wang faction and they seemed to be 50,000 strong headed for their location. Likely Lun Hu's army.
Though this was not out of their expectations, the battle now just became at least twice as troublesome. Unfortunately for them, the bad news did not stop there as there were two more armies headed towards them. 100k soldier strong each. They were in the middle of now what they knew was the worst-case scenario. An all-out attack from all-stars of Lian Po.
The enemy had a total of somewhere around 400,000 soldiers at their disposal, not to mention some seriously deadly weaponry that would put the Gatling guns to shame. On the other hand, their multi-alliance coalition housed some 600,000 soldiers, 200,000 of which were Zhang Da Zhi's, 150,000 belonged to Baron and about 75,000 each for the two remaining alliances. Though they were numerically superior, they knew that if even one of them did not perform their tasks perfectly, the entire thing would be at risk of collapsing.
