(ZJG) "Ah, so that explains it. I can't believe the message arrived so late." Zi Ji Ge said as she finally understood the situation.
(MZ) "How could it be possible, our plan was fine just the way it was. What has changed so that it would allow such a force that would be capable of stopping them be able to slip past us unnoticed?" Madam Zheng said as she frowned.
(ZJG) "What should we do now? This might be a trap to lead the rest of us to our doom."
(MZ) "Though a trap it may be, the elders that are fighting off the forces of Vesper still represent a large portion of our strength. We have to get them back no matter the cost. This isn't a situation where we can ignore the results of like what Baron and the other two had just gone through."
(ZJG) "Understood, my brother and I will set out immediately. I believe the others will require a bit more time to ready their forces as they have been split up."
(MZ) "Alright, the two of you need to be careful, the leader of Vesper is no joke. I'll send one of my husbands to be out with you shortly. You'll need the help."
(ZJG) "Of course, let's go, brother."
The two of them set out to the coordinates that the elders who they were split up from sent to them immediately. Zi Bo and Zi Ji Ge were two very powerful naval strategists, however, there were people that were above them as well. They were considered rather young strategists, all things considered, and had progressed incredibly fast within the Chinese community through their shared experience. Once they got to the location of where they had wanted to get to, they saw nothing but carnage and destruction.
They had made it just in time to witness the elders who were many leagues above them get played like they were children. They witnessed the ships that they did not have the firepower to destroy get sunk one after another. They spectated the infamous glory and grandeur of their superiors' fleet that was the pride of the whole Forever Pirate faction put up little to no resistance. This was an undeniable horror of war, looking onwards to the people you look up to, get the same treatment as a mother treats her disobedient child.
Still, they had an obligation to fulfill, a promise to Madam Zheng that they would help out in any way they could. However, what could the two of them possibly manage? Zi Ji Ge was still speechless about the whole situation while Zi Bo got to work planning things out in his head. Within minutes he had a general idea of how they would be able to utilize their resources in the most efficient way possible.
First, he arranged his formation so that it resembled many rows of ships interlocking at the midpoints but on the ends had more ships to the left starting every second row. He signaled his sister to do the same and she immediately knew what he was going for. The two of them had very different ships, he had a fleet that would be able to tank more hits while she was able to deal out more firepower. Together, they made a pretty strong duo.
Second, he sent out his fleet in waves of 100 ships, complemented with another 50 from Zi Ji Ge. His ships would be out at the front where it would take on more hits, while Zi Ji Ge's would stay further away from the battlefield and hit their enemies from a safer distance. Essentially, Zi Bo was the shield while his sister was the spear. The enemy had noted their presence long ago and had already prepared many defenses so that they would be well equipped in advance of whatever the siblings had in store for them.
This first wave of 150 ships was not meant to deal any decisive blows, rather, they were meant to gauge the first enemies that they encountered. If their ships were blown out of the water instantly, they would know that their enemies were beyond them. However, if their ships dealt a fair bit of damage before going down, they would know that there was nothing to fear.
It turned out that their first opponents would be the latter and the 150 ships that they initially sent out were already nearly wiped out without even needing to send out reinforcements. Zi Bo and Zi Ji Ge had almost 5,000 ships under their name altogether, each of which was leagues ahead of the ships that Wu San Gui was so proud of.
On the outskirts of such a large scale battle, their first enemies were not much to talk about, however, it turns out that the ones that they just defeated were already a crew that was beaten up and were recovering. That being said, Zi Bo and Zi Ji Ge used this chance to enter the fray of perhaps the largest battlefield that they have ever participated in. They both kept their formations and in minutes they were able to locate one of the elders fighting desperately for their lives. They sent help out immediately and were able to alleviate the said elder with some major difficulties.
This particular elder was actually one of the best under Madam Zheng and his fleet consisted of a vast array of ships that all complemented each other in an almost perfect way. Having his help from such an early point in their journey. The three of them discussed their situation and decided their next course of action, they had agreed to free one of the elders that were quite close to them, yet powerful in his own right that it warranted them to act. There was something that the elder had wanted to tell these two of what had happened, but he decided that it was best saved for later.
