Chapter 86 - Marrying a close relative isn't taboo

In Aeron's study.

"You guys are so cruel! Dare to leave me here while the four of you went into a battle!?" Adrianna screamed over the phone. It isn't on loud speaker but her loud voice is enough to echoed around the room.

Aeron sighs and rub his temples tiredly. Antonette frowns as she saw this and said to Adrianna, "Ria, lower down your voice." She commanded even though she lost to her the last time they fought, making Adrianna rank higher than her.

"Tsk!" Adrianna clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Boss is so cruel, he made me flew back here only to know that those bastards have fly to Country A for a war. Once they come back, I'l beat the hell out of those three eggs!" And then she hungs up.

Noel, Reid, and the sleeping Andrew: ...

Aeron sighs deeply as he leans on his chair, his deep blue eyes staring right into Antonette's brown eyes. "How come you're in Country A?"

In the Living Room.

"What do you mean?" Both Samuel and Adeline are shocked because of Aisha's sudden accusation. "Although, the Ainsworth family and De La Torre famiglia has rifts, especially when your mother, Kristin, died, the Ainsworth has no guts to gp against a powerful mafia famiglia like the De La Torre famiglia." Adeline's tone is sharp and stern.

"It's true though," Samuel's eyes darken as he thought of the death of his daughter. "We're angry as hèll at Morano for not protecting Kristin like he swore to us, but we're not reckless and stupid. Going against Morano means the fall of the Ainsworth."

Aisha was silent for awhile. She was the one who killed her mother, it isn't her father's fault. Her hands clenched tightly as she thought about what happened that year. Two decades had passed but the pain is still present in her heart. Guilt. Anger. Sadness. And most of all, regrets. She regretted that she was too weak by then, she couldn't protect herself and Kristin, she was too weak that she has no choice but to end her life. The same thing goes for Morano. She wasn't even there at his side when he was assassinated.

Seeing their granddaughter seems a bit absentminded, both Samuel and Adeline are worried that they accidently poked her wounded heart. "Aisha, dear?"

Aisha blinked and cleared her throat, gulping down the bitterness she was feeling. "That's not what I meant when I asked that question." She said which confused the two.

"Then what is it?" Samuel asked, if it's not because of it then what?

Aisha told them her suspicions, from Morano's sudden death, to the traitors of the De La Torre famiglia, how Rafael is assiociated with the enemy and that the enemy is someone from the Ainsworth, and also the fact that that person wants to killed them both.

The two are silent once Aisha is finished, digesting the information they were told. After awhile, Samuel finally spoke. "Are you really sure that it's someone from the Ainsworth."

"Possitive," Aisha nodded. "Although, there aren't many evidences to support it but I have a gut feeling that it is really someone from the Ainsworth." And Aisha's gut feeling never betrayed her, so she was certain that the enemy is from the Ainsworth family.

"This..." Adeline hesitated. "The Ainsworth clan has many families, and only ours is affiliated with the De La Torre famiglia. Others has no dispute and reason to do that."

I doubt it, Aisha thought. "Is there someone from the family who is close to my mother?"

Of course, how could Samuel and Adeline not know what Aisha is implying? "Are you saying that this person wants to revenge for what happened to Kristin?"

"It's only my speculation but the possibility is high." Aisha shrugs. "So, is there someone?"

"Yes," Samuel answered. "He is you mother's bestfriend. If I'm not mistaken, he once fell in love with your mother but Kristin merely sees him as a brother and marries Morano."

Aisha lifted her brows. So, is this another one-sided love story?

"But he accepted Kristin's rejection and they remained friends. Eventually, he marries Kristin's second cousin."

"Who is he?"

"Johnson Ainsworth."

"He's also an Ainsworth? But he marries mother's second cousin?" Aisha asked in surprise.

"It's not like the practice of marrying someone from the same clan to preserve the pure blood line is taboo in this era." Samuel smirked at Aisha's perplex look.

"Then you two...?"

"We're twins," Adeline said which surprised Aisha even more. "Fraternal to be exact."

Aisha: "..."

"Oh, don't act like you're surprise," Samuel grinned mischievously. "Aren't you engaged to Freohr?"

In Aeron's study.

*Snapped*

"Uh," Noel was shocked when the pen Aeron was holding was snapped into two. "What's wrong, Boss?" They were just talking about Antonette's mission, why did he suddenly look like he was about to murder someone?

Is he mad? Antonette frowned. Not only Noel, but Antonette and Reid are confused too, well, except for the sleeping Andrew in the couch.

"I suddenly have a feeling of murdering someone." Aeron's brows furrowed in confusion.

"You're weird." And scary, Reid said awkwardly. Suddenly having the urge to murder someone is weird and downright scary, alright? What if Boss murder them just to satisfy his urge for blood?

There is only limited handsome men in this world, is he die then the small number will be reduced and many women will cry for the loss of one handsome man.

Reid is too "soft" to see a miserable women crying.

Back in the Living Room.

"Once we get back, we'll surely investigate this manner. Especially Johnson." Samuel told to Aisha.

"Yes, please, it will be a great help." Aisha nodded towards their direction and said in a grateful tone.

Silence engulf the room. Aisha shifted in her seat as she keeps on fidgeting her fingers. "That..." Aisha hesitated.

"Is there something else?" Adeline smiles softly. "You can tell us, we won't be too surprised. Nothing is more surprising to know that someone from the Ainsworth is behind all of this, right?"

Well... Aisha bit her lip, close her eyes and took a deep breath. Once she opens her eyes, her expression turns serious and solemn.

"About my mother's death," Aisha paused and so is her grandparents. "It is I who killed her."
