At least, she didn't vomit on herself. She stood up quickly, even if her stomach was still a bit upset, but she didn't want to see what her mouth just rejected. She knew what she ate, after all. And it was less pleasant than anything she ever ate before.
Her legs were a bit shivering, but she kept on going forward. There were much more zombies here than on the previous floors. There were doctors, nurses, men and of course a lot of women. Half of them were pregnant. Some others seemed to have just given birth and a few looked like visitors. But if there is parents, there is children. From toddlers to high school students, without escaping from the babies. This floor was supposed to be full of people and life, and was now packed with zombies.
It was so crowded that Nora had a hard time to walk with her infusion stand properly.
She didn't have a clear view of what stood before her, but she found herself before a vending machine. Sadly, there was a person in it. More precisely, a man seemed to have been shoved in it, the glass had broke and the majority of the snacks had fallen on his body. The rush to escape the zombies could kill as much as those zombies.
She reached for a bunch of snacks and took some. 'I can't just feed them with that. They've been eating this for four days, already. I need to find something else but... Where ? I don't this hospital, but they must have a restaurant or something like that. First, I go to their room. I give them snacks. I take a shower. I hope they have clothes. Or maybe I should explore the other rooms to find that. Yes, I'll do that. So I find clothes, I give them food, take a shower and go find the restaurant or whatever it's called. Deal.'
Just as she said, she went to the nearest room. There was three zombies in, but they weren't blocking the way to the closet. Nora picked a jean and a t-shirt, which were both too big for her, but at least she could fit in. She was a bit less prone to select underwear but she still forced herself.
She went out and looked for the room the girls were in.
'541, 541... Did I miss it ? No, wait... It's the wrong way... Ah, I get it, it's on the left... Here we go !'
Nora entered a corridor that could be considered apart from the main one. They were quite lucky, there wasn't many zombies here. She stopped herself before a door. The number 541 was written on it. She looked on her right. There were a few zombies but they were a bit away. There was none on her left. Just like she always did when entering her sister's room, she knocked the SOS morse code on the door. That was the only morse code she knew so she always used it with her sis.
She heard al lot of noises, like they were moving furniture inside.
The zombies on her right looked up in her direction. Two zombies went out of a room on her left. Nora gulped. She could hear a low growl coming from them.
The sound in the room stopped. The door half opened.
"Quick !"
Nora run inside and Millie closed the door quickly. The sisters pushed the nightstand and the chairs to block the way.
They heard the zombies roar and they saw the door shake under their efforts to rush in. They waited a quarter of an hour till the tremor stopped.
The zombies seemed to forget humans were in there. Hopefully the door was solid.
After being scared by this special event, Millie turned to her sister. Her eyes were full of tears, and her legs couldn't hold her anymore. She sat down on the ground, trying to overcome her recent panic. Her face was deathly pale and she looked like she lost some weight since Nora last saw her. Millie raised her head to look at her elder sister. After a bit of struggling, she finally opened her mouth.
"Nora, what's the... ? You said you didn't stink !"
"Without the zombie's blood, I don't ! Wait, is that all you can say now ?"
