They had their lunch rather peacefully. Well, Ryn was. Jeremy never gave up trying to change her mind and cancel the contract. He even offered to pay for breaking the contract.
However, Ryn was too hungry to care about his plead and puppy-dog eyes. Her attention was caught by the steak. It melted like butter when she put a small piece into her mouth. She closed her eyes to savour the taste even more.
He gave her a hurt look but did not try to pull the plate from her so she could focus on him. Hence, the calmness came because he gave up trying to persuade her and finished his meal instead.
He paid the bill and waited as the waiter went to process the payment. He watched as she continued to look outside, enjoying the scenery. He frowned, thinking how to change her mind without making her angry at him.
