Chereads / Tell Me Again, My Love / Chapter 75 - What about Lia?

Chapter 75 - What about Lia?

Harry was trying to get back to sleep. He wanted to dream about her. Nowadays, with her not around, he could only dream about her.

He wished she could return quickly.

He missed her so much.

Him being mooning over Ryn made him unaware of his little sister getting closer and closer until she was finally standing next to his bed. Grinning evilly, she grabbed hold of the blanket and pulled it as hard as she could, exposing him to the coldness of the air-conditional.

"MIA!"

Giggling to herself, she quickly ran out. She stopped at the door to her room, pulling the lower skin underneath her right eye and stuck her tongue out. Then, she quickly went into her room and locked the door, still giggling.

"Mia, open the door. I swear I won't kill you," it was time for Harry to knocked the door.

"Not a chance. You think I'm stupid?" Mia laughed even louder hearing his warning.

She was not worried he would hurt her. He was too soft-hearted to even hit her.

She skipped to her study desk and switched on the computer. She bet her friends were already online, checking the show in London. She was unable to go there this year because her mother wanted her to check on Aunt Angel when her brother, Harry, could not do it. She was also tasked to watch over Harry, in order to protect him from being scammed by bad people.

Little did Harry and Aunt Angel know, both her mother and her looked at these two as naive and innocents. Even Harry who was so popular among girls since young only had one experience in love. That was so pathetic, to be honest. He should at least have a steady girlfriend.

Her mother and her, the both of them, tried to introduce him to girls but... but each time they managed to set a blind date, he would either have extra class or basketball practice. He was not deliberately trying to avoid the date but it would always coincidentally the same date as his activity. So annoying!

The arrival of Lia actually shocked her and their mother. How long had it been? They had not seen Lia for years and suddenly she came to the house, requesting to see Harry. What else could they do except letting her meeting him?

And was it not exciting seeing Lia here with Harry?

Since last time, it was clear Harry had some feeling on Lia but she was too busy to notice it. So, with how big mother and her heart was, it would be cruel to let this couple apart, right?

So here she was, waking him up. Well, she was waking him up but now she was hiding in her own bedroom.

But it did not matter.

Harry was already awakened and for sure, he would go downstairs to meet Lia.

Mia grinned at her thought.

Harry groaned. It was clear his stubborn little sister would refuse to open the door. He blamed her spoiled attitude to their parents. They always let her do whatever she wanted. Headstrong, spoiled and troublesome. These three words were perfect to explain what Lia was. Regardless of that, he still loved her the most and always looked after her, especially toward boys who were always trying to get close to her.

All of them were playboys and could not be trusted!

He went back into his room to take a quick shower. Then, he went downstairs. Whether he liked it or not, he had to face Lia.

Or she would not leave at all.

He would not let her stay here for a minute longer. Better to settle this once and for all.

He reached the living room as Lia poured another cup of hot tea for his mother. His mother was smiling happily seeing how polite and thoughtful Lia was. Such a good candidate to be her daughter-in-law.

"Mother, good afternoon," Harry greeted his mother but avoided to greet Lia, even not spending a second to look at her.

Lia bitted her lower lip, trying to hold onto her emotion.

No. She must stay calm.

"Harry, dear, you are finally here. Look who came to visit you."

Harry sat on the lone single-seat and looked at his mother, still ignoring Lia.

His mother, still oblivious with the tense situation, beamed happily seeing how suitable his son and Lia was. Pretty soon she would be able to hold her first grandchild.

She grinned at the thought.

Harry looked around but avoiding to look at Lia. He looked at the coffee table before back at his mother. He made a show of looking at his watch.

"Mom, I need to go now." He stood up.

"Huh? Where are you going? What about Lia?" her mother cried when he started walking to the door.

"I need to go to the library for the group discussion."

"But, Lia is here. She came for you."

"Really? I thought she came for you. I'm sorry, Mother. I need to go now."

Lia stood up. She was hurt with his cold treatment.  Even if he did not give face to her, he would give face to his mother, right?

But he did not even care!

He was so rude even toward his mother.

This was not the Harry she knew!

"Aunty is very sorry, Lia. Aunty did not know Harry is busy today."

"It's okay, Aunty. I understand he is busy with his study."

It was no use hoping for his family to help her. It seemed like she had to think of another way to make their relationship into reality.

She excused herself and went home. It was just a waste of time if she spent more time there. Harry would not let anyone control him. Not anymore.

"Harry, why can't you stop being stubborn and just let us together back?" she muttered under her breath. gripping the steering tightly.

Harry reached the shopping complex. He had no idea how he got there but when he finally snapped from his thought, he found himself right in front of the entrance.

He looked around. So many people were there shopping or window-shopping. He took a deep breath and entered the building, joining them.

He was not supposed to go out today. He wanted to spend the day waiting for Ryn's call or message. It had been days for Ryn to contact him and he missed her. Did she miss him too?

He was mulling over this matter, did not even look in front properly. Then, he bumped into something... or someone.

"Aww..."
