It was an awkward dinner in Ryn's opinion. Their ex-classmates tried many times to include Mika in their conversation, hoping Mika would help them with their future project but Mika just gave them a puzzled smile and did not follow the script they had in mind. Every time they tried to reel her in and test the water, she just said one sentence, "I am just a lowly worker in the company, don't have any say in their projects." and they could not say anything anymore.
It was so obvious that Mika would not help them in their work.
Once they realized that anything they do was not working, they gave up and turned to chat among themselves.
The girls who were hoping to find a rich boyfriend ignored Ryn completely. They did not really believe that Ryn and Jeremy were serious. They thought Jeremy was with Ryn because of Mika and he was not serious with Ryn. So, they tried to butter up Mika, praising her so much that it made Ryn roll her eyes many times.
