Ryn flipped her hair and smiled. Then she turned another way, still smiling.
"Okay. It's a wrap," the cameraman declared loudly and was answered with a loud cheer from everyone.
She blew out a relieved sigh and went to check the photos she just took. Happy to see the result, she thanks the cameramen and all the crews involved. Then, she grabbed her bag and checked her phone.
A message from Mei Li told her everything was settled and nothing to worry about.
She smiled reading it. However, the message from her dearest Mika almost made her laugh.
'Ryn~ Why can't I join you having fun? Why I have to attend these boring meetings?'
She could almost picture how sad and devastating Mika was when she was typing the message.
When Jeremy followed her, she already had the feeling that Mika would not be allowed to follow her.
Hence, she found herself the receiving end of endless cries, complains and wailing from her best friend. Mika even asked her to coax Jeremy to change his mind and go home to handle the business and let Mika came instead.
Obviously, the answer was a big NO.
She was about to put the phone back into her bag when she noticed another message from Harry. Without thinking, she clicked on it to read.
'When are you coming back?'
She frowned. Were they close for him to ask that question?
'Why?'
Instead of waiting for his reply, she simply dropped the phone back into her bag and prepared to go home. She planned to call a cab or Grab to bring her home.
But first…
She looked for a place to eat. She was so hungry that she knew she could eat five steaks!
She was just reaching the door when she saw a familiar-looking man leaning against a red Ferrari.
She cocked an eyebrow.
"Are you done?" Jeremy opened the door for her.
"Hmm…" she got into the car, too lazy to ask or even argue with him.
She knew he would bring her to eat. Seeing how familiar he was yesterday, she had no doubt he knew where a delicious steak house was. Hopefully, he would bring her to it.
She could even pay for her food as long as she could eat steaks… a lot of steaks.
She almost drooled at the thought.
Delicious steaks with black pepper sauce or even mushroom sauce. She was not that picky anyway. And of course, she would also have mashed potatoes. Yum~
He chuckled seeing her familiar expression. She must be thinking about food. No doubt that the food she had in mind was steaks. A lot of steaks.
"Are you hungry?" he asked even though he knew the answer.
"Hmm…"
"I've booked a table for us."
She smiled widely, anticipating to eat her favourite steaks.
They were still on their way to the restaurant when her phone rang. She took it out and frowned seeing Harry's name. thi time he was calling her.
What time was it over there?
If calculated with the time difference between the two places, shouldn't it be late at night over there? Why wasn't he be sleeping?
"Who is it?" Jeremy asked under his gritted teeth. With a glance, he saw Harry's name. He recognized that name for the boy whom Mika took as a model for their show last time. He was also the boy whose aunty lived next to Ryn's and some sort of having friendship with his Ryn.
"A friend," replied Ryn as she slid her finger to answer the call.
"Hello, Harry. What's the time at your place? Wasn't it already late?"
Harry on the other side of the world was smiling when he received so many questions from her.
"It's not that late. Anyway, I'm hoping I am not interrupting your work," he asked apologetically.
"It's okay. I've just finished my work. So, what's up?"
"When are you coming back?" he asked nervously.
He knew he could simply ask via messages but he suddenly wanted to hear her voice.
He needed to hear her voice.
"After the London Fashion Week. Why?"
"Erm… nothing…"
"Oh…"
Harry scratched his head even though it was not itchy at all. Why was he feeling awkward?
"Anyway… if you like… when you come back home… I… erm… I can make steaks for you," he laughed nervously.
She frowned. Why was his voice sound so weird in her ears?
"Are you okay, Harry?"
Jeremy gripped the steering tightly. Why was she still talking with that green boy? Why couldn't she see that boy was just a playboy who would play with her pure and naïve heart? And most importantly, why would she speak with that boy when she was with him?
"Babe, we are almost there," he raised his voice a bit to ensure that the boy could hear his voice and knew she was with him. No one could take his property away and she belonged to him. Him alone!
Harry frowned when he heard the man's voice. He gulped. "Are you… are you busy? Am I interrupting you?"
"No. It's okay. You are not interrupting anything."
Harry smiled. He could not help it.
"It's getting late over there."
He understood the words. He sighed a bit, "Goodbye, Ryn. Have fun modelling over there."
"Goodnight. Goodbye."
Ryn kept back her phone and looked out of the window, "Are we getting closer?"
"Hmm…" Jeremy was too angry to even answer properly. His hands were still gripping the steering. Why did Ryn even say goodnight at that green boy? She should just disconnect the call immediately when she received it. Or better, just ignore the call!
Soon enough they arrived at a parking lot underground a building. He swiftly parked the car and got out of it. Even though he was still hurt and jealous, he went to open the door for her and waited for her to get out. Then, he locked the car.
Ryn waited for him. She had no idea where they were and where the restaurant was. She was so hungry and she wished he would hurry up so they could start eating.
Can't he hear her stomach growling?
