She accepted the offer of the girl and huddled together with them. Her dress was longer than the others. They all were wearing white pieces of clothes that just, as she heard the men say, the goods. Her dress was stronger and it was dark maroon in colour.
It meant something. It differentiated her from the other girls and made her seem like the price.
They were saving her for the last and that was enough for Evelyn to be wrapped up in her own anxiety. The last meant that this was going to go on for long, and that she was the prize which meant people were going to bet on her until the highest one won.
By the looks of it, Evelyn was the oldest in the room and she felt a protective Edge over these women. The two girls that she is sad in between, Evelyn wrapped her hands around their shoulders.
