Chapter 97 - Interrogation

The First Lady began sweating bullets for no apparent reason. 'What could be the reason he asked for her to come if not to interrogate her about Grandmother Santos. I need to warn her not to say anything, or I'll be in hot water for sure.' She was so engrossed with her thoughts that she had no idea that President Grant was watching her from the corners of his eyes.

Jane Si, who had no idea what was happening, asked First Lady Dianne, "Aunty, are you alright? Why did you suddenly turn pale with the mere mentioned of Lady Lucy Le Grand's name?" She asked her out of concern, not realizing she had just made it worse.

The President who heard Jane Si's question, looked up to see his wife's face and sure enough... Her face was deathly white like she just saw a ghost. 'The ghost from the past and the skeletons in her closet.' President Grant had a few thoughts as he got up to meet with Lady Lucy.
