Daniel knew that Prince Alexander would be curious, but he never envisioned that he would challenge him straight up when there are many people around and could eavesdrop on their conversation. He had to think fast, unsure of what kind of answer he would provide him. However, they can't disclose Alexa's genuine connection with them as a precaution.

Prince Alexander was quick to disrupt Daniel, for he doesn't want to disclose his actual Status to Alexa either. He wants Alexa to get to know him as Alexander, 'not the Prince', but himself.
