Chapter 95 - The idiots in the underworld (Egyptian branch anyway)

"Step forward into the ring of judgment."

I knew that voice, but for some reason, there was a layer of unfamiliarity that masked the identity of its owner from me.

I closed my eyes due to the difference of the light between outside and inside the hall.

When I opened them, I saw a round court that had judges all over the place, all old and with animalistic features. Facing me at the other end of the hall was a three-headed hound with a man that had a jackal head, both blocking a door.

Everything was fascinating and all, but nothing interested me other the person sitting at the highest seat of the court. His skin was darkish blue. On his head was the Pharaoh crown that was taken with him. He even still has his Pharaoh goatee and the muscular body. But the thing that changed was his young handsome face, that is now that of an old, frail man.

"Well well, I never expected to be judged by my own victim," I told my brother, Osiris, with a smirk on my face.

"Silence!" one of the judges snapped.

"Careful, you must know who you're talking to, lowly one." Ah, it was satisfying to see the burning anger on his face.

"Why you!!!!!"

"Enough!" the same elderly but familiar voice came out of my brother's mouth.

I turned my head at him and examined his old face, "The coffin I gifted had materials that made the skin fairer, why do you look so old now?"

Osiris stared at me in the eyes and replied, "Time flows differently here. Thousands of years have passed since your bold attempt at taking my life."

"Attempt? I'd say I succeeded in taking it, you call this a life?"

"I serve my people this way. You, however, only seek to hinder their lives."

"Serving is boring. I need action in my life, and torturing humans is a great way to get it. And speaking of bold, let's talk about our new young Pharaoh; well he was the Pharaoh."

Osiris frowned and his wrinkles deepened, "My son is still alive."

"For now, yes," I admitted. "But he was stupid enough to wake a certain person. How much do you miss our dear grandfather?"

"What about Ra?" He frowned more.

"Ugh you're still an idiot, Osiris. Can't you figure it out on your own?"

"Answer his question, Set," Anubis growled.

"I don't take orders from anyone, and certainly not from you, stepson. But since your puny minds can't figure it out, I will enlighten you. Our dear Horus the junior has awakened his Majesty, the Sun Pharaoh and Founder of Egypt, Ra from his deep sleep."

The hall sank into deep silence, and a look of bewilderment was seen on Osiris' face. Then, the murmuring began. Everyone was in disbelief, to an extent that my brother asked his son, Anubis, to check if my claim was correct, to which he did and confirmed them.

"Yeah he really did, and the old man is still as stubborn as ever. Anyway, let's get this over with, I'm getting bored." I said while yawning.

Osiris managed to calm down the hall, and when he did, I suddenly jumped at him and exposed my teeth; I wanted to bite his throat.

However, as you may have guessed, I didn't manage to. When my teeth were about to pierce my bother's skin, I was immobilized and returned to my place, with a small pressure pressing down on me.

When I could move again, I heard the voice of Anubis in my ears, "Behave, this is your first and last warning."

I grunted and said with ferocity, "You talk tough, child, do you want to make me live again with all my powers and test you luck against me?"

"Brother that's enough! Now, Set, god of Chaos in Egypt, you are guilty of killing countless mortals, destruction of several important tombs, death of your sister, and death of your Pharaoh. How do you plead?"

"I don't," I replied. At that moment, I felt a surge in my power, and then I realized, I wasn't dead! And Anubis wasn't the one suppressing me, it was my wife's spell!

Ohhhh I was so foolish. Dammit!

I smiled and my lovely Chaotic flame exited my body, catching everyone off guard and engulfing the entire hall in fire.

As it returned to me, I smiled and said, "In fact, I don't even plan on staying here. Farewell, morons!"

And I disappeared.
