My daughter was gone. I was one of the reasons why she died. I can't believe I was such a bad mother. I shouldn't have taken out my anger on her. Micheal's death wasn't her fault. I should have been trying to be the father figure Micheal was. I was torn. I was a terrible mother.
"Mrs. Darlington." Bethany was trying to comfort me. Cynthia sure knows how to make good friends, Bethany may not be my biological daughter but I'd care for her as I should have cared for Cynthia. I pulled her into a tight hug.
"Thank you for being such a blessing to our family." I chuckled as her shoulders relaxed. She had been so tense since she found Cynthia dead in the bathroom. I knew how she felt, it was painful to see the paramedics take her body away.
"You're welcome. I just want you to know, I'll be here for you. Losing Cynthia is like losing my sister and well I know how loss feels because I lost my parents." Her parents are dead?
"Y- you lost your parents? Do you want to stay with us instead." Bethany pulled back.
"Ma'am I couldn't possibly stay here. I have my older sister as well." I really felt bad. I wanted to help. I lost my husband and now my daughter. It must've been so hard for her.
"She can stay with us as well. The whole third floor is vacant except for my room." There was a long silent pause. Then Christian interrupted.
"Bethany, you can live here with your sister. Our living conditions are good and we'd love to help." He had a grin on his face and his cheeks were bright pink.
"R- really? I mean I have to ask my sister first but I'd love to." I remember the time her sister came over to pick her up. Her sister was like the models I work with. Bethany went into the hallway to call her sister. I was worried her sister will say no. Eventually, she came back her face was all droopy. She looked upset. Did her sister say no?
"Well? What did she say?" She stared deep into my eyes before a bright smile appeared on her face.
"She said she'd love to! She said she'd come over to talk to you soon.

The door bell rang a while later. I couldn't wait for them to move in. It'll finally fill the empty rooms in the house. I ran to the door.
"Hey. Hailey, Please come in! It's so nice to have you here." Hailey smiled.
"Mrs. Darlington. I couldn't thank you enough. We really needed this. Thank you so much." I didn't know that. Were they struggling?
"Call me Alice. Hailey, my dear. What do you work as? I'm just curious."
"I have multiple jobs. I work as a cashier in the local grocery store, I babysit and a restocker at the grocery store." I feel really bad for her.
"Hailey. Come with me to work I think I can find you a better job." I hope she meets all the requirements. Doing this to help Bethany and Hailey would've made Cynthia happy.
"Thank you so much. Bethany where did you find someone so kind?"
"Hailey, This was the family of my best friend Cynthia."
"Was? What do you mean?" I noticed Bethany was gonna tear up so I pushed in.
"I'll tell you later on my way to work. Bethany you can start moving in. Ask Christian to help you." Then I rushed out of the door grabbing everything I needed for work as Hailey tagged along.
