Chapter 6 - Forgotten Hero

N's POV

It burns, I can feel the poisons running through my veins. Like ice and fire, fighting each other off, yet slowly killing me. Tears stream down my face, because of sorrow or smoke, I don't know anymore. I don't care. They have taken everything but my soul at this point, even then, I might as well have given that to the devil. The only elder I once believed in, Iver, was the one who started my downfall. He was the one who took my eyes.

I sigh yet again, "Vie, please just listen to me one last time. You have to be the one to stop them." The punishments I have suffered to finally unravel their plan will finally be worth it. As long as he listens. "You see, this is a story of my final test. A test to see if I was truly worthy to be King. A blind battle. They blindfolded me and forced me to fight an unknown enemy that still had their sight. After I won, they took off my blindfold and I look to see my first ever 'friend'. She had a look of disgust and hatred on her face. She then said to me that she knows what I have done and that I will finally be punished for it. That I deserve death by a thousand lashes, and to top it off, she was the one who had forced all my punishments on me. She was the one who told the orphanage to torture me. I was naive enough to believe in friendship. In trust. She died that day at my hand after cursing my death."

I begin to laugh, but that laugh soon turns into a cough. I can feel myself coughing out blood. A banister crashes to the floor and the flames grow higher. "Leave this place Vie. Don't let anyone know you were here."

"N, c'mon, you have to get out of here. You can come with me!"

"Do you think anyone would want a King like me? A King with no eyes? A King with poison flowing through their veins?" I turn around to show him what I have been reduced to. And smile. I smile as I shove him out a window, shove him out into safety. I smile as the world begins to fade. I smile as I hear Vie shouting at me. I smile as everything fades to black. I smile because I have now died.

Vie's POV

Dead. She's been dead for decades now, yet I still am unable to get over the fact that she died that night. I and many others have risen up against the elders. That night I had found about a civilization called "Ancient Rome" and we decided to recreate it. And this year, we overthrew the Elders. I pray to the angels that they approve of our changes.

2397 G.E. (Godly Era) and I am laying on my deathbed. What a way to go, she would be disappointed. I expected assassination at this point, to be honest, seeing as I'm one of the two Consuls. I'm too tired and old for politics at this point. I close my weary eyes and fall asleep.

Flashback

They killed her. The Elders. Yet she is not their only victim, she is one of the thousands. Be it citizens or celebrities, they have mercilessly slaughtered them all. No one questioned their death, they made it look like they died of a natural cause or an assassination. I believe it is time we fight back.

A few months have passed and I have gathered a force a few thousand strong. But it's not enough. A few thousand against people who have a whole world at their command. (A/N - keep in mind that they believe that they are the last of Earth and everything else has fallen)

I gather my trusted aides silently, like a whisper in the wind. These few people are old friends and enemies. Some fallen Kings, King candidates, or just average citizens. Tonight is going to be a big night. We post pictures around the continent, pictures of what the Elders are actually doing. Meeting with criminals, torturing the innocent, killing my brother. I expect our numbers to increase drastically after this stunt.

I was right. So, so right. We have millions now, almost enough to fight back. We just need to train them. Train them hard.

It has been years now, and my patience has run out. They have murdered one of my closest aides. Tonight will be a bloody one.

We won. I- I- can't believe it. Yet it still cost everyone some part of them, a family member, a friend. Now it is just time to start setting the foundations.

Third Person

Vie, the man who changed the world. The man who exposed the cruelties of the past government. The man who saved them all.

N, the girl who was forgotten. The girl viewed as a murderer, the girl who started it all. The Forgotten Savior.

Today, we lost a hero. We lost Vie Ember, the founder of the nation of Crimson.

???'s POV

She is dead, finally dead. What did this little girl do to deserve all this power? I have looked into her future, yet all I see is her walking among the flaming ruins of this world. I believe she has traveled here to destroy them, and I will aide her in their destruction. I hope she will join my noble cause to destroy the pesky Living Realm. I shall supervise her progress, after all, I am the most powerful being there is. A demon.

Wait, I shouldn't say that. Filip said my ego has gotten too big.
