Chereads / Fire Lord Sofie / Chapter 47 - General Furball

Chapter 47 - General Furball

" B-by the way, what was that trail earlier!? I suddenly appeared in the middle of an underground cave with a lava river going further into it."

Feeling the worried gaze of Yang Meng, Sofie tried to ask about the earlier trail to divert his attention away from her currently flushed face. Sofie almost felt like the more he stared on her, the redder her face grew.

"Hm? The trail? If I'm not wrong the trail is to help us become one with the qi we focus on. For example, I cultivate earth qi, so I had to become one with the earth… I… Don't feel it's a good idea to talk about it… All I can say is a lot of darkness and being stuck somewhere underground… At least you ended up inside an underground cave, I was not that lucky…"

Seeing the dark look on Yang Meng's face, Sofie felt it was a good idea not to ask about the details.

Stuck underground without being inside of a cave… Is this not just being buried alive!?

A look of dread appeared on Sofie's face as she looked at Yang Meng looking blankly into space with a dark look still on his face.

"A-are you okay…?"

"Yeah… I'm fine, at least you can not feel any pain in the trails… You only get some time to become one with the qi before the trail forcefully throws you out. Now that I think about it… How did you become one with the fire qi? I knew about the trail, but you did not… How come you were so fast?"

Hearing the worried question from Sofie, Yang Meng quickly reassured her that everything was fine and in return asked Sofie about her trail. Yang Meng was extremely curious about how Sofie became one with the fire qi without knowing about the trail and what to do beforehand.

"W-why didn't you tell us about the trail in the begging!"

"Ahahaha… I-I might have forgotten it…"

Seeing Yang Meng scratching the side of his head while blushing a bit in embarrassment, Sofie felt the anger inside of her slowly rising.

"Me…o…w"

Hearing the weak meowing all of a sudden, Sofie looked down and saw the little wild cat demon beast still tightly held inside of her embrace…

"MEOW!"

Seeing the human girl was finally awake, the wild cat desperately called out for her to release it immediately.

Sofie saw the pain on the cute creature's face and quickly released the small creature from her embrace with a sorry look on her face.

"S-s-sorry! A-are okay general furball?!"

General who? Damned human girl! First you almost kill me by strangling me to death slowly and now I even get these ridicules names!? I'M A PROUD DEMON BEAST! This… this…

Feeling like crying at any moment, general furball slowly saw the shaking shoulders of the round human boy on a few meters away.

D-damned human boy…! You clearly know demon beast have intelligence! Why are you not helping this general… Wait… DAMNIT!

Feeling like it was about to have a mental breakdown at any given moment, general furball slowly resigned to his cruel fate and decided to lay down and sleep. Hoping all of this was nothing more than a nightmare.

"Hm? General furball fell asleep. Maybe general furball got tired from hugging me for so long? Fufufu, I should let him rest for now. Ya- is there anything wrong!"

Watching general furball sleeping beside the mat, Sofie turned in the direction of Yang Meng. Only to see him shaking abnormally while seeming to be in pain.

"N-no, n-n-nothing is… w-w-wrong."

Not fully believing what he said, Sofie picked up general furball and started making her way over to the altar Yang Meng was currently at.

Yang Meng barely managed to calm himself down when Sofie suddenly reached the top of the altar where he was staying.

"Are you okay!?"

"Y-yes I'm fine, see?"

Waving his hands from side to side, Yang Meng tried to demonstrate that he was okay, and nothing was wrong with him.

"Now that I think about it, what happened during your trail and how did you pass it?"

Yang Meng asked out of the blue. Clearly trying to switch the topic away and Sofie knew it… She had after all done the same thing a little while ago…

Sadly it looked like she had no way out this time and she relectuantly started explaining what happened to Yang Meng, who almost looked like he was about to burst out laughing after she finished her explanation.

"Bahahaha!"

A loud laughing erupted from Yang Meng as he could not hold himself back any longer.

"W-why did you lean over a river made of lava?!? Hahaha, are you stupid!"

Calming down a little, Yang Meng managed to ask her with a smile all over his lips as he soon descended back into rolling all over the praying mat. Laughing loudly.

"Wha- I-it's not that funny! W-why do you keep laughing! S-stop it!"

Seeing Yang Meng call her stupid before rolling all over the praying mat laughing to the high heavens, Sofie tried to stop him with words in the start, but only ended up being ignored by him in return.

"Y…Yang Meng!"

Felling angry at the fatty rolling around laughing at her, Sofie could not take it anymore as she jumped directly on top of him and tried to stop him from rolling all over the place. Resulting in both of them suddenly rolling around the praying mat together.

One, trying to stop the other from laughing. The other, adamant on continuing to have fun on the others expense as he laughed loudly while rolling around.

"W-w-w-w-w-what is happening here!"

A shaky voice interrupted the two, as Yang Meng stopped rolling around. Resulting in Sofie separating from him.

Sending a deadly glare towards Yang Meng. Sofie wanted nothing more than to tear him apart from the humiliation she had to go through, when she tried to explain to him that she did not jump into the lava river but fell into it.

Even though she explained again and again that she fell into the lava river by accident when she suddenly heard a large explosion, followed by an earthquake, Yang Meng kept insisting that she had jumped into the lava river herself. Even saying she was smart enough to figure out what to do by herself…

Seeing Yue Wan staring at Yang Meng like some sort of bug that needs to be killed off as quickly as possible, Sofie ignored the pleading look on Yang Meng's face and only smiled coldly as she picked up the sleeping general furball from the side-lines where she placed him before jumping on Yang Meng.

Serves you right!

Sofie thought to herself as she ignored Yang Meng's pleading look by looking the other way and hugging general furball into her embrace.

*Creak*

Just as Yue Wan was about to draw her sword and slash Yang Meng in two, a creaking sound reverberated through the surroundings.

Both Yue Wan and Sofie looked around themselves in surprise at the sudden sound, while Yang Meng looked towards the three giant doors in relief as they slowly opened up.
