I thought this summer day was going to be like any other day. Going to university lectures, reviewing them. Working at my part-time job. Lastly going home eating a good dinner before going to sleep and letting everything repeat itself.
My name is Huang Hua, a 21-year-old orphan. My parents died when I was 14 and I was left in an orphanage with no one that adopted me. My studies were supported through scholarships and orphan support funds.
To make ends meet I currently work alongside my university studies in a flower shop not far from campus and sending out newspapers in the mornings. At first, I had a hard time finding time with my studies and work but as time passed I managed to plan my time well enough. Now I have a perfect balance between my work and studies.
My looks being average and dressing plainly, I mostly avoided guys for most of my life. My black hair and brown eyes also didn't stand out in this country where it is all too common.
I have never had the thought of dying my hair into something more unique and unusual, never considered wearing much makeup either. No guys put any attention into a plain girl like me who puts no effort at all into grooming herself. For me, this is for the best since I wouldn't have time for a boyfriend while balling studies and work.
But on this certain day, everything about my life changed. It began with going about my day as usual up until I was on my way home back from work at the flower shop.
I was standing by the red traffic lights when I suddenly began feeling dizzy from the heated light of the sun and without myself being able to react I stumbled onto the road. Suddenly I was flying and rolling into the ditch on the other side of the road. I had been hit by a car.
I felt my whole body in pain from the strong hit as I heard the car that hit me come to a complete stop and heard its door open before hearing steps running towards me. Every bone in my body felt broken and I winced a bit at the pain. I doubt that all my bones were broken through.
'Is this how I'm going to die?' I thought before everything turned black.

A bit earlier in the car.
"Steven, when we get back home please ask the cook to make me something and send it to my study."
The handsome man inside the backseat said with a smile and looked up a bit from his computer in his lap at the elderly butler driving in the front seat.
"Will do young master"
The old butler respectfully answered to his order. Suddenly as they neared a crossing with green lights the butler noticed something stumbling onto the road but didn't have the time to react before the figure was hit and flew into the ditch on the left side of the road.
The car suddenly stopped and the cold-faced young man in the backseat looked up from the computer on his knees and asked the old butler.
"What happened?"
"Something that looked like a person suddenly stumbled onto the road and was hit by our car, young master."
"Well then, hurry out and take a look, if needed take it to the hospital. we don't want any unnecessary trouble with the law"
The old butler had already thought to go out to take a look and quickly went out of the car at his young master's orders and closed in on the figure lying in the ditch on the left side of the road. To his surprise, it wasn't a human-like he thought he it was but a German shepherd pup. It lay there quietly with its eyes closed in the ditch, covered in its own blood.
The old butler quickly took off his coat and picked up the pup walking back in a hurry towards the car and put the pup in the front passenger seat.
"A German shepherd puppy? Then let's hurry off to the vet."
"Apparently young master. Yes young master"
The old butler looked up the closest and best vet clinic on the GPS and drove directly there on his young master's orders. He looked back at his young master in a bit of surprised look. His young master has never seemed to care for life before. Could it be that his young master likes this dog?

An hour later a veterinarian entered the waiting room where the old butler and his young master were waiting.
"Who is the owner of the German shepherd puppy?"
"I am"
The young master answered with the old butler giving the young master with a surprised look. Does his young master want to keep this puppy? Then he turned to the veterinarian and said.
"Well, actually we only took the puppy here after accidentally hitting it with our car when it tumbled onto the road. We don't know who its owner is."
"Is that so... it isn't chipped so we can't find the owner here and it's injuries are quite grave. We managed to save its life but its spine and right hind leg are broken. Are you willing to take care of the poor creature for a few weeks while it heals? And possibly search for its owners?"
The old butler looked back at his young master who gave him a nod.
"Yes, we will take care of it."
"Good, then when you take it home be sure to lay it down on something soft like a pillow with the right side up. Don't let it move around and aggregate its injuries for the first two weeks. Either call a vet to come to your home or take it here every day for a checkup. Feed it nutritious food and water three times a day but do not force feed it. Aid it as much as needed when it's eating, it's ok to lift it if necessary. Understood? Also here are some pain killers that don't harm dogs."
The butler nodded, accepted the pain killers and at the same time a nurse entered the room while carefully holding a pet carrier. Inside the carrier lay the puppy all bandaged up and sleeping quietly.
"We had to give it a sedative to operate on it without giving it pain, it should wake up in a day. The pet carrier is included in the vet fee. "
The young man gave a silent nod as the butler received the pet carrier from the nurse's hands.
"Well then, be careful when going back home."
The vet said as they left the clinic. The Butler answered with a greeting nod.

When I opened my eyes I noticed that I laid on my left side on a floor and top of a soft pillow. Am I alive? If I am why aren't I in a hospital? Why am I lying on my left side on a soft pillar in a luxurious room that seems similar to one that would be on a Victorian European mansion? With the colors of white and gold?
Is this heaven? No Heaven wouldn't be like this. Then, where am I?
I felt weak, I could only move my head a bit and I figured that I had probably received sedatives for my injuries.
I have never hurt myself this badly before so I don't know how sedatives feel like but I took a guess based on my knowledge from reading web novels in high school. A hobby I had to abandon when I started university to study and earn money.
I blinked a bit and then looked down at my unmoving body. What I saw gave me a big surprise.
There were no clothes, only black with some light brown parts fur and I realized quickly that this body didn't seem to be my old body anymore. I had turned into a dog.
