Mia pondered on her situations. She felt weird. First of all, she woke up to a new location. She was told she was married to the King of Hell. She has no memories of him whatsoever or any clue how she even got to Hell in the first place. She was wary of her surroundings as she was raised in an orphanage where she brought up in such a harsh environment and she had to continuously watch out for herself.
So Mia was absorbing all the information in. Befriending people along and around her and once you do, Mia knew they were bound to loosen up. What Mia was worried about was her safety honestly but the 12 and Dante seemed harmless.
She was one to trend around carefully but the way Dante and the rest of them treated her made no sense at all. And she was getting impatient and she wanted answers. And she wanted them now.
"Now tell me Dante, Mr. Great King of Hell. Why am I here?", Mia turned to Dante as she said those words.
Dante paused for a bit when he heard her question. He sighed and went back to stirring the fire in front of him to see it blaze brighter and fiercer when he touched it.
He was dreading this talk. In all honesty, he was here to talk about the reason why Mia was here. He knew she was curious and he could not stall anymore. The human curiosity knew no limits and Dante knew Mia was not one to sit still to wait for an answer. If he didn't give her one, Mia would find it herself. The Mia he knew didn't have much patience.
"What do you want to know? I'm sure you have more questions than that.", Dante finally caved and let go of stirring the fire to look at Mia.
"Start from the beginning. I want to know why I am here.", Mia repeated her previous question.
"You belong with me. Plain and simple. That's why you are here. You should rightfully always be besides me.", Dante grew silent after he spoke those words to Mia.
He didn't add anything else and Mia was looking at Dante's face expectantly. She studied his features while she was searching his face for answers. His dark black hair looked like his ran his hands through it, his eyebrows were dark as well and looked brooding and his equally dark eyes were of pitch blackness and she felt like she was staring into a black hole. She noticed he was silent a little too long and the air around her felt suffocated as well. It was eerily quiet and most of all, she suddenly felt like she was in a dangerous zone.
'Did she push him too much on that question? After all he did mention, he would explain later.', Mia thought to herself. She knew she was an impatient being. Sister Faith's word came to her mind right this instance, 'Someday your impatience will lead you to hot waters.' 'Damn it! He's going to kill me in this middle of nowhere', Mia cursed herself.
Dante suddenly reached out his hand and placed his hand on the side of Mia head and with his thumb started to stroke Mia's head and Mia froze.
"You are thinking way too much.", Dante said in all seriousness.
Mia sat there frozen. 'Damn can he read my mind. He IS the figging KING of HELL', Mia was struggling internally.
Dante chuckled as he saw Mia contemplating. "Mia, I mean it when I said I'm your husband and I want the best for you. It also means I know you. I know you more than you know yourself.", Dante continued.
"Do you believe in reincarnation?", Dante asked Mia.
Mia was taken aback. "Reincarnation? As in being reborn? A rebirth"
Dante hummed in agreement. "Yes. Being reincarnated is being reborn. Would you believe me if I told you that you were reincarnated?"
"Me reincarnated? I honestly do not believe it. Don't reincarnated people have some sort of memories about their past lives?", Mia replied.
"That's true but not all people remember it vividly. Subconsciously they are affected with their past memories. Mia, you feel an ease with me don't you? Even though you do not know me? Like you are familiar with me", Dante explained.
"Yeah I do. But didn't you say I forgot my memories of you when I crossed over?", Mia questioned.
"When you reincarnated, you crossed over; soul and time. Most humans don't remember their past lives. I doubt you can either. But subconsciously you do remember and unwillingly succumb to your habits and behavior; remains the same.", Dante explained.
"So you're saying I was reborn? As hard as it is to believe it, lets just say for the sake of argument, I was reincarnated. Now what? So I was right, I really don't know you nor do I have anything to do with you?", Mia tried hard to understand Dante's meaning behind his word.
