"I'm pregnant?" Lin Meirong woke up sometime later and was surprised to see Mu Jianyu sitting beside the bed.
He nodded in response and stared at her dazed expression. The news about her pregnancy not only shocked him but also Lin Meirong. She covered her mouth in disbelief. This wasn't part of her plan! She had barely managed to avoid Mu Jianyu's proposal, she can't be pregnant now!
The fear that ran through her entirety wasn't known to Mu Jianyu as he leaned down and held Lin Meirong in his arms. He could feel her trembling in his arms and assumed that she was afraid.
Lin Meirong had once told him that she was an orphan and she had no living relatives to look after her. This was why he found it endearing that she was working hard to support herself. It must have been hard for her to grow up alone in the countryside.
"Don't worry. I'll be here. I won't let you deal with this alone." He seated himself next to Lin Meirong and assured her.
