Chapter 76 - Ghost Tree vs Carnage Dragon (2)

Whoosh!

Just as ramie threw himself on the ground, a compressed bullet of wind passed through the spot where his head used to be, creating a whizzing sound of high speed object ripping its way through the air.

Ramie's heart went cold immediately. No matter what, he could never forget the attack that had torn off his arm before.

The bullet of wind hit the head of one of the warriors inside the formation. Luckily, he had a very high life energy ignition percent. So, the wind projectile didn't penetrate his life energy shield.

However, the man's luck ended there, and did not go any further.

The momentum of the spell wasn't strong enough to claim his life; however, it was more than strong to push him forth, throwing him out of the formation.

"Save me!!!"

The man gave a desperate cry for help, as plea was all over his face, not only for the compound warrior to help him, but also for the enemy warriors to have mercy on him. However, his cry was bound to be disappointed.

Like a group of bloodthirsty hyenas, the prison warriors overwhelmed him with punches and kicks.

"Go!"

Ramie immediately sent his vine at the man, without a delay, and pulled him with all of his might.

This man took the hit that was meant for him, so, Ramie felt obligated to save him.

However, as the vine went out to save a living man, it only brought a blooded corpse.

Three seconds…! That was all it took for the countless attacks to break his life energy defense and kill him.

Getting up, Ramie focused his sight at the figure that was floating above the ground tenths of meters away.

The man was dressed in black, and he had a small hurricane of wind spinning around him, alleviating him above the ground.

In that man's eyes, a bone-chilling, murderous look was shooting out toward him. If gazes could hurt, then Ramie would have been ripped to a myriad of tiny shreds by now.

Immediately, and having recognized that man, Ramie was taken. Then, a blinding fury welled up in his heart afterward.

That man and his brother attacked ramie and the others for the sake of their gemstones. They wanted to kill them to get an easy advance of power, as it was safer to kill humans than to kill beasts. Jeffry, Reem's father, was killed by this man. Yet, that man was now coming after his life.

Looking at the twisted face of the warrior's corpse beside him, Ramie's eyes started pulsating an intense eerie yellow glow, signifying his boiling rage. The look of despair and unwillingness was printed on this poor man's face.

Yet another victim fell for that wind magician.

Ramie returned the intense gaze at the wind magician. This was the first time in his life that he really wants to kill another human being.

Although, the confrontation with this man happened in night time back then, but at that time, the shinning moon and the stars illuminated that night. Also, ramie's eyes gave him the ability to see in the night almost as good as in the day. So, he had no problem recognizing this man.

The wind magician, Curtis, was hovering at the back of the group, while smiling coldly at the Ramie. He very much liked seeing his enemy trapped like an animal, waiting to be slaughtered.

His plan succeeded perfectly. And now, his enemies, as well as the compound trashes, were all about to die.

Although the power levels in the compound had given him a huge surprise. However, in the end, they'd still die, all the same.

He felt lucky for not attacking on his own and devising that plan instead.

As strong as the compound was, their strength was still insufficient to win this fight. After all, with that psycho Derek on their side, who can even contend against a mid Lv.2 warrior, as the long as the compound didn't have any warrior with ignition percent above 50%, then none of these filth should ever think of living past this day.

Having these kinds of thoughts, Curtis felt a sense of elation and excitement at the prospect of his enemies dying without him even taking any chances. Him managing to play things from behind the scenes and destroying his enemies gave him an unimaginable intoxicating sense of power and control.

'Dogs shit… blame for your luck for being on my radar! I, Curtis, whoever crosses my path, will find nothing in his future but an abyss of suffering and regret…! Now… repent in hell for your sins.'

Although he was a Rank-2 magician, but, having chosen to advance a defensive spell instead of an offensive one had impacted his abilities by a great margin.

At first, he chose to advance the wind barrier spell, to better protect himself, and have a strong defense. And that indeed happened. However, what he did not put in consideration was that if he did not advance an offensive spell, then his attacking power would only be that of a rank-1 magician! It was only later on did he understood how big of a mistake was that decision of his.

Now, his offense was so weak, that he couldn't actively participate in any tire-2 beast hunting missions, which ultimately led to his level stagnating.

Also, this particularity made him unable to fight any warrior, or magician at the second level, or even assist against, as his wind barrier defensive spell could only be casted at himself and not on others.

Anyway, his enemies were all going to perish here today, even if he didn't lift a finger.

That being said, if there was a chance for him to kill any of these people himself, then he wouldn't mind. And even if he couldn't, then it didn't really matter. As the result would be the same, everyone here dying. So, even though his sneak attack on the hooded magician failed, it didn't matter by much.

Gritting his teeth to the point of making grinding sound, Ramie shifted his attention to the battle around him, and sent out his vine to help the warriors maintain the defensive perimeter.

Although he knew that the wind magician was still there, lurking and waiting to find a chance to launch another attack. However, with his aura sensing ability, he could keep a part of his attention on that magician's aura and monitor his location without even looking. Also, using his innate ability to sense ill intentions that targets him, he could still react and evade the next attack that magician throws at him.

Although killing this magician was the best choice right now, however, the distance between them was beyond the range of his spells. Hence, and considering that leaving the formation was nothing less than asking for death, Ramie had no choice but swallow his anger and wait for an opportunity.

The defensive formation was being pressurized to the point of collapse. It was obvious that the number advantage was too much for the compound warriors to deal with.

Thud!

Suddenly, and as the situation was progressing toward a certain defeat, a large bundle of spear bones fell from the sky, right in the center of the defense formation.

"These are the inscribed weapons! Make use of them, now!"

As everyone looked up at the sky, the dazzling flying figure of Nora could be seen above them.

Hearing the words, immediately, everyone in the compound side was overjoyed.

As they all rushed here in haste, most of them didn't have the chance to bring the bone spears with them. As such, they were forced to fight with their hands. Now however…!

In no time, Ramie untied the ropes and started distributing the inscribed spears to the warriors.

Bzzzttt! Bzzzttt! Bzzzttt!

Immediately, lightening sparks started flickering off the spears' tips as the warriors activated the lightening inscriptions.

The warriors of the prison were completely taken by surprise. They had no idea why these spears were flashing with electrical current. Most of them started thinking that these spears were taken from some special type of magical beasts.

As for the prison magicians in the distance, and after hearing the flying woman's words, some of them started realizing the situation. After all, magicians did acquire the artifacts information after leveling up for the first time. So, they had some knowledge regarding the inscriptions, albeit a superficial one.

"Watch out!"

"Stay away from these spears!"

"Quickly, retreat!"

Instantly, many shouts of warning bellowed from the magicians in the prison group, calling out for the warriors to avoid the danger.

However, it was already too late…

With bellies that were filled with blazing anger, the camp warriors stabbed at the enemy warriors with hatred. Many of their comrades had already fallen to these vicious enemies that had attacked them for no obvious reason. So, after getting the inscribed spears, they exploded with strength, and launched their counterattack.

"Don't hold back!"

"Show then no mercy!"

"Stab at their heads!"

As the camp warriors attacked with complete savagery, shocking scenes broke out in the battlefield.

Immediately, countless miserable cries rang out among the prison warriors, and blood splashed about.

Aside from the paralyzing effects, the lightening inscription also adds a piercing effect to the spears. And even the life energy protection was not strong enough to withstand the magical weapons.

"Retreat! Retreat! Retreat!"

Having seen their fellow warriors die one after the other, the prison warrior soon realized the horror of these new weapons, and they started retreating in frenzied manner.

On the same time, the warriors that were patrolling the other side of the compound arrived. And they were ready for the fight.

Immediately, they brandished their bows, and started throwing their inscribed arrows at the enemy warriors.

In no time, the battle tide was turned toward the compound warrior side favor.

In front of the inscribed spears and arrows, the life energy defense was like a thin paper, shattering at contact, and allowing the camp side to nullify the numerical advantage of their enemies.
