Angel's first attempt ended in failure.
And it failed not long after it started.
The reason wasn't due to a mistake in the alchemy process, but purely because of Angel himself. He had miscalculated the control of his strength, causing a shard of the Fire Transmission Stone that was supposed to be melded to crack.
Although it was just a tiny crack, Angel could have simply replaced the shard of the Fire Transmission Stone. However, he chose to extinguish the flame and temporarily discard the materials already used.
He was so decisive because he wanted to avoid regretting the use of precious materials later on.
Strength control has never been considered the most important aspect by Alchemists, but it's like humans needing to breathe air—a kind of instinct that seems inconsequential but is deeply ingrained and indispensable.
So, Angel stopped.
Fortunately, he discovered the mistake early, and the wasted materials were not much, leaving him with some room for willfulness.
