Draig watched as some of the destroyed buildings began to empty of their occupants however these weren't people by any means.
The Shinobi hid among the wreckage along the streets and watched the little green blights begin scavenging random trinkets and scraps, at least except for one.
**********
Sitting on top of a crudely made throne of hubcaps was what could only be described as a fatter version of the little creatures.
On top of it's head could be seen the lower part of a human jawbone acting as a crown, along it's body could be seen tribal markings in what could only be assumed was their language.
'Obviously that one is the leader.....' thought Draig as he watched the other's bicker among themselves but not one of the little monsters dared to covet the fat one's possessions.
[Two Skills generated- Sneak, Surveillance]
[Sneak- allows user to move silently and undetected(Effect increases with level of skill)]
[Surveillance- Allows user to gather information on targets and pin point weaknesses(Effect increases as level rises)]
Draig muted the notifications as it was blocking his vision but he noticed that with the unlocking of these skills he was able to see little glowing markers of various colors.
He looked at the correlation of the marks and came to determine one of the colors purpose.
'Red is wear their weaknesses are.....' noted Draig as the red dots only showed up on the vitals he knew of and there were many places that possessed the same dots.
He suddenly ducked when he heard a sudden clanging of metal.
*************
The Fat Goblin smiled deviously as he summoned forth his underlings for a gathering, he waved his hand with a dastardly grin and the goblins began banging improvised instruments together as a group of people were ushered in.
They looked ragged and bruised, obvious cuts decorated their bodies as they were forced to kneel at the center of the goblins.
The little Fatty rose from the makeshift throne and began making a series of odd noises as if it was some grand speech.
As his 'speech' concluded and he once again took his seat the crowd of goblins began to cheer and growl loudly.
The Goblin King once again waved his hand in a 'have at it' way and the goblins began to descend on their helpless pray, at least that was the plan until a wicked squeal was heard causing all eyes to flash to the King who was having his throat cut before the wound was set ablaze.
**********
Draig looked at the shocked Goblins for only a second before he began peppering the large crowd of beasts causing them to run around recklessly as they attempted to avoid the weapons.
Draig then descended into their midst and began swinging haphazardly, he had never held a sword before so his swings were clumsy and misguided but still the Goblins were already in a state of panic and combined with the loss of their leader they disbanded into random directions.
"Well that went better than expected...." stated Draig expecting no response as usual.
"Thank You!!!!!" came the grateful shout full of hope and happiness.
Draig turned towards these people who had been tortured and bound, he stared at them blankly as if only now noticing them.
The prisoners and Draig looked at each other in silence as the scene became more awkward.
"Naturally...." spoke Draig after some time and walked towards them.
He cut them free and they each showed their gratitude.
"Thanks again" spoke the apparent leader of the group, it was a teen only a few years younger than Draig.
"Of course.... So how did you end up captured" asked Draig cutting his eyes towards the teen.
"Well it started right after the earthquake, these weird medallions appeared in front of us and well some of us picked them. Thank god we did too, or else we would have ended up like some of the others that didn't make it off campus..." started the teen.
"So you saw the medallions too?" asked Draig gaining a sudden interest.
The teen nodded and invited the rest of the group to join the conversation.
"So what did you say your name was again" asked an older man to start.
"I didn't...." answered Draig plainly.
"So let's start with what classes everyone has, if you all feel comfortable with that" spoke a middle aged woman with brown hair.
"I'm Lola, I chose Archer" smiled a girl putting up a peace sign, her blonde pig tails dancing wildly from the exaggerated action.
"Tracer, Mana Molder" answered a green haired boy though he looked reluctant about answering.
"Hollen, I am a settler" answered the older man pushing up his glasses
"I guess that leaves me, I chose Templar and you can call me Lance" smiled the person Draig had been talking to originally.
"Draig, I'm a Merchant" answered Draig not willing to state his actual class.
"Really? I didn't think a merchant could do what you did..." asked Lance doubtfully which was copied by the others.
"I may be a merchant but anyone can swing a sword...." answered Draig in a simple tone.
"True.... I guess I should stop thinking about this like a game." mumbled Lance lowly though it was still heard by the group.
Soon the group began talking in earnest well, all of them except Draig who listened to any information that he could glean from the hurried recounts.
"So you don't really know anything then?" asked Draig looking at the group as a whole.
"What do you mean we just told you everything we have been through" answered Lance.
"But you didn't tell me anything important" retorted Draig slowly.
"They aren't the type to try and make sense of things" spoke Tracer suddenly.
"And you are different?" questioned Draig calmly as he looked towards the Mana Molder.
"I've been making my own theories on and feel I have discovered a few things" explained Tracer causing the Shinobi to look towards him.
"However I feel it's important you know something first" smiled Tracer as Lola seemed to smirk.
"What's that" asked Draig as he could see the evil intent in their grins.
"Lola doesn't like her new pets being killed" stated Tracer before the sounds of goblins charging could be heard.
Draig looked at the group as he realized his foolishness, however it went unnoticed that his eye twitched slightly as he swung his sword wildly lopping off the head of Hollen causing the group to yell out in rage.
"You idiot, if he dies the barrier drops" panicked Tracer but it seemed Draig either didn't hear him or didn't care for his words as the Shinobi flung his shuriken at the Mana Molder.
Tracer waved his hand causing a barrier to trail behind it deflecting the projectiles but a sudden scream caused him to turn and see Lola clutching her burning abdomen. Time seemed to slow down as the Goblins that were charging seemed to become more rambunctious and their blood lust could even be felt now.
"God Damn you" shouted Tracer as he ducked under one of the goblins.
Lance off to the side had been overwhelmed easily as he could fight more than five of them alone, it was a quick stab to his back that allowed the little green devils to overtake him.
Tracer looked at the scene and was distracted long enough for a sharp piercing pain to appear in his neck, the Mana Molder clutched the area as blood began to seep between his fingers.
Tracer couldn't believe it as he felt himself becoming weaker, his group had done this to numerous people already though it started as a way to overwhelm raiders. It didn't take long for the power to go to their heads.
Draig didn't stop and threw four more though they only grazed the area but it didn't matter as the Mana Molder was already choking on his own blood dying a slow death.
***********
Draig didn't even give him the dignity to die with grace as he noticed the goblins paying more attention to him now.
Surprisingly Tracer got back up and turned to look at Draig revealing a band of mana wrapped around his neck keeping him from bleeding out.
'Damn it, these things are starting to look at me..... I need to find a way out of here' thought Draig as he looked towards Tracer who began to create solid platforms.
The Shinobi started to look nervous as the goblins started to slowly encircle him, he looked towards Tracer slowly leaping his way from platform to platform.
"I'll give it a shot" spoke Draig quietly as he dashed towards Tracer faster than anyone expected, this seemed to be the green light as the goblins began charging at him madly.
Draig made a mighty leap and managed to land on one of the platforms before he quickly caught up to Tracer who was shocked to see the Shinobi so close to him.
However the garbled snarling that was coming from behind him brought his attention to the fact that the little monsters were following them up the platforms.
Draig looked at Tracer for only a moment before he tossed the Molder off of his own platform before jumping off as well and sprinting from the area.
Tracer watched this scene of events unfold and watched as his vision filled with the snarling faces of the goblins.
'I'll get you back you bastard' thought Tracer before he was buried underneath the snarling mass.
