When Lin Feng finally reached the age of 5 he was taken to his family's awakening altar where he was given the purified blood to drink, but even with all the preparations Lin Feng wasn't able to awaken his bloodline. Lin Chen was not disappointed at the loss of resources but he did feel sad predicting his son's life from on because he knew how the world worked, he knew that even with his identity as the second strongest man's son without personal strength of some kind the people with ill intentions would eventually eat him up.
It was just as predicted at the age of 8 the previous Lin Feng started to get bullied, harassed and ignored even though his father did everything in his power to make him feel secure the looks of contempt people gave him were slowly gnawing away at him and the biggest impact he had received was when his own father indirectly told the king to cancel his engagement with the eldest princess even though he only thought of the princess as a strong big sister, seeing the sad and downcast look of his normally proud father was the trigger to Lin Feng's decision to kill himself in his sleep so that he would not bring anymore shame to his parents.
Lin Feng sighed as he could empathize with the previous body, he too was very familiar to the feelings of powerlessness, the only difference he could find between himself and the original was that he did not have parents to shelter him and was killed in the end of the power game but in this world where power was even more valued, even with the protection of his parents this Lin Feng was forced to take his life himself. Grinning he changed the number to 3 and clicked the now glowing button as the needle started moving rapidly he prayed to every god he knew even imaginary ones to let his bet work.
As the needle slowed down and Lin Feng saw it was on a gold region he couldn't help but feel his expectations rising.
