"Oh, she was a complete jerk. Loved taking credit for other people's work; she was just thirsty for money and power, and she looooved walking with her nose up in the air, as if she was superior to everyone else. Back in school, she was called 'Greeny' because she never shared anything with anyone but always took stuff from others when offered. That name was to indicate that she's greedy, by the way, if you didn't get it."
"I did. Thank you for the information, it has really helped me."
"Oh? So will you wipe that stupid smirk off her face by mentioning this little tidbit of mine?"
"The smirk will be wiped off, don't worry. Thanks again, for your time and the coffee."
"Ooh, I wish I could see that. Do come back and tell me all about it if you can."
"I certainly will. Bye."
Waving at the dark-skinned woman who had been on the list of those referred by the principal of the school, Liz smiled inwardly, feeling glad that she had found the one that she had been looking for.
In every school, there was always that one person who loved to bring up the negatives of a person, no matter the consequences. They might have been slighted by the individual, or they might just have the sort of character that takes pleasure in seeing others' misfortune.
Liz's intention had been to find the character of Jenny's before she went ahead with her plan. The plan required certain things to ensure a higher chance of success, and Liz now felt better because she had correctly assessed Jenny's character to be one which was dominated by avarice and a feeling of superiority.
The latter had been in full display the first time they had met, but the former had needed confirmation, which Liz now had.
Walking to the taxi stand to catch a ride back home, Liz smiled, feeling that it was ironic that the greed that had probably led Jenny to accept the offer to be a spy would be the reason behind her downfall.
…..
The next day.
As Jenny came to work as usual, she had a wide smile on her face due to the fact that her secret account in the Cayman Islands had just been credited with $100,000 due to the success of her plan.
Seeing her look so happy, her colleagues continuously asked her what the reason was but she brushed them off, saying that it was just a nice day.
The first thing that she did each day after reaching the office was to arrange her desk to get ready for the new day.
Today, as she was doing so, she saw an envelope marked with her name on the floor, arranged in such a way that anyone passing by her desk wouldn't have been able to see it due to the fact that the chair would block their vision.
Picking it up, she opened it and took out a photo.
Panic flashing across her face, Jenny placed it back in and immediately stuffed the envelope in her dress.
The smile was gone, and in its place was now fear which she tried hard to hide.
Quickly getting the ladies' room, she went into a bathroom and securely locked the door behind her before standing up on the toilet and checking that there was no one else in the bathrooms adjacent to hers.
After doing so, Jenny finally calmed her heart which was threatening to hammer out of her chest and took out the envelope again.
The photo was a satellite image of a very familiar dilapidated building with a car parked outside, and a human could be clearly seen getting out. The number plate was clearly visible, and it was enough for anyone to find out that it was hers.
Immediately, she took out a cellphone before placing a call.
While she waited for the person on the other line to pick up, she noticed that there was an additional note inside the envelope.
Taking it out, she read the words and immediately cut the call.
"Happle knows what is going on inside this location. We also know that you used a time period when no satellite was watching the location, so this was proof obtained by redirecting one of the secret satellites given to the military by Happle. Do not panic; the CEO simply wants to meet you to negotiate a deal for you to become a double agent. The number on the table is 2 Million Dollars. Come to the location on the back of this note with all the information you have about Sylvex. Ignore this message, and you WILL find yourself in jail."
