He shook his head and continued guiding a board through the ripping saw. When she moved closer, braced to establish a firm, but pleasant working relationship, Jarek glanced down at her. "Stand back," he ordered sharply.
His tone surprised her, and Leigh stepped back, her heel catching on a heavy power cord. Unbalanced, she began to fall, and Jarek turned suddenly, flipped off the power saw and reached for her.
He'd moved so quickly, startling her. His hands held her upper arms firmly as she looked up at him. "How clumsy of me. Thank you."
"You're very welcome. Stay out of my way, okay?" He grinned with enough impact to take her breath away. Her heart felt like dancing, her skin like it had been touched by rain and summer sunlight, and somewhere deep inside her, she felt carefree and young.
