A figure stood in the dark shadow of a corner and Xia Ning was surprised when she recognized the man.
The man looked emaciated. His eyes sunk deep into the sockets, his skin looked coarse, and his hair was as unkempt as a haystack. He wore an ordinary jacket, which couldn't be warm enough for this weather.
"What? Surprised to see me?" said the man suddenly with a scornful voice.
Xia Ning pursed her lips and kept her silence.
"Your surprise actually reassures me. At least it proves that you still remember me."
Xia Ning stared at the man with a frown. She then asked in a low voice. "What happened to you?"
"Don't you know the answer to that question?" The man chuckled.
Xia Ning lowered her gaze but didn't reply. Although she didn't know what exactly happened, she had a feeling that it had something to do with her.
