Chapter 16 - The Long Night

Arthos was a man on a mission. Nothing could distract him. He paid the teleportation fee and asked the Lindber attendant for directions to the temple of Light. With all solemnity, he trudged on to the temple, asking the temple guard where he could purchase Holy Water. Murmured a work of thanks and headed straight to a little shop in the temple. His mind was in a blur. Nothing seemed to matter anymore.

"A vial of Holy Water would cost a silver. "

" Give me three. " Arthos dug out 3 silvers and collected the vials, stuffing them into his inventory. Without waiting for pleasantries, he promptly left.

He barely heard the system announcing that he had been in the game for four continuous hours. Within minutes, he was back at the teleportation crystal and had paid his dues.

Almost breaking into a run, he was back at the orphanage. He took a deep breath, and pushed the door open to where Layla was. "Was there a problem? Do you need some silvers?" Anne voiced out in concern, making no effort to hide her worries.

"Here, take them." Putting the three vials on the table. Anne's eyes widened, "So soon? it has barely been half an hour." She grabbed the nearest vial, uncapped it and dripped the contents onto Layla's tongue. She then looked at Arthos, "Thank you. We have done what we could, we have to believe in Layla now. She has a much stronger will than you think. She has had a weaker constitution than most and falls ill often but never has she given up. She would always smile and assure us that everything would be alright."

Arthos nodded. "You should take a rest. It must have been tiring running back and forth." Arthos shook his head, "No. If it is alright, I would like to stay by her side till she wakes up."

Anne looked at Arthos for a moment, then nodded. "Suit yourself."
