"What do you mean you don't know who did this?!? I want answers now or else!" Sasha slammed the phone down angrily before huffing. I stared at Vikky who lied on the bed asleep. Her face twisted in an uncomfortable expression. I sighed before rubbing my face.
-FLASHBACK-
After seeing a group of people piling around someone's locker, I looked pasts and gasped upon realizing that Vikky was pasted out on the floor, her locker wide open for everyone to see the words written on her locker.
"You shouldn't have done that."
"Move it idiots!" Violet screamed at the top of her lungs. Pushing past the crowd of people who were mostly just standing there taking photos, I reached Vikky. Rushing up to her, I shook her slightly.
"Vikky? Vikky can you hear me?" I said while shaking her. Her eyes fluttered open before shutting again.
"Vikky! Wake up!" I said. Her eyes opened again.
"Please.. get them."She grabbed my arm weakly. "They could be hurt." She said. Her eyes misted oversights tears. "please Sara." She begged. I swallowed hard.
"Even in this situation, there all you can think about? You got a death threat yet you still won't put yourself first?!? Don't you see what this is doing to you." I said. Her eyes drooped down.
"They mean... the world to me Sara." She softly replied. Violet and Ivy has come to the other side of her.
"What's wrong with her?!" Violet yelled. I shook my head.
"I don't know but-"
A loud voice echoed through the hallway interrupting me. I turned to see Adam storming over. His eye glowing bright yellow.
"Move it!" He growled. People instantly ran out of the way, making a pathway for him as he walked. He bent down in front of Vikky who had already fainted again.
"What happened?" He angrily said. I wasn't exactly sure who his anger was directed at but I gulped either way.
"I- I don't know, I just came here and she was like this..." I said quickly. He squinted before turning in the direction of her locker. Walking up to the words written on it, he dipped his finger in the red liquid. Violet gagged but quickly covered her mouth. Adam sniffed the red liquid. His shoulders relaxed a bit.
"It's fake blood." He said. I sighed before looking back at Vikky.
"We need to get her out of here." I said to him. He walked over to her and gently wrapped his arms around her waist. He frowned. Suddenly, he started to feel around her stomach. Violet yelled.
"Is this really the time for you to do that." She said crossing her arms. Adam glared at her but still had a noticeable blush dusting his cheeks. He shook his head.
"That not what I meant." He said he looked at me. "Sara, feel here." He said. I frowned before gently touching her side. My frown deepened as I put my whole hand down on her side. Violet looked at me confused. I shook my head.
"Something isn't right.." I said. I was about to lift her shirt slightly when Ivy coughed loudly.
"Sara, don't forget we're still in school. Surrounded by people waiting to see what will happen." She whispered. I quickly pulled my hand back before looking an Adam who nodded. Taking off his jacket, he handed it to me. I watched as he carefully wrapped his arm around her waist and the other under her legs. Lifting her up, he stood up fully, Vikky's skirt riding up slightly. Adam looked away, except this time he was definitely blushing. I covered her bare legs with his jacket before leading him to the door. I turned back to Ivy and Violet.
"You guys run and go get David and Jewel, I'll call Sasha and we'll wait in the car but hurry." I said. They both nodded before sprinting down the hall at full speed. I glanced back at the locker before rushing to catch up with Adam who was already rushing out the door.
-END OF FLASHBACK-
We were all sitting in the hospital room while David sat the closest to the bed and Jewel being held outside by Ivy. She wouldn't stop crying no matter how many toys or treats we tried to give her. Sasha occasionally stepping out to make a phone call only to come back in furious. Everyone else was just worried, especially Adam. He wouldn't stop bouncing his leg no matter how many times he did so. After a few minutes of nothing but foot taps Violet groaned.
"Do you not get leg cramps from doing that so much??" She said to Adam. He sighed before stopping his shaking leg.
"Sorry, I'm just... nervous." He said.
"We all are." I said. He nodded slowly before returning his gaze to Vikky who was sleeping on the white bed. I looked over to see David's sad and sleepy face.
It had been about two hours since school ended and David hadn't taken a nap, instead his eyes focused on Vikky with a scared and sorrowful expression. I couldn't help but want to cry upon seeing it.
"David, do you want to go to take a nap? We'll wake you up once she wakes up." I asked him. He shook his head and blinked rapidly. Trying to keep himself awake. He looked back at Vikky. Sasha came back into the room with a loud sigh while brushing her hair back frustrated.
"Sara, can I talk to you outside for a moment?" She said. I nodded before standing up.
"I'll be right back." I told Violet. She nodded. Walking outside, I saw Sasha who was leaning against the wall.
"What's her condition?" I asked. She looked at me before pinching the bridge of her nose frustrated.
"Doctor said it's malnutrition, as well as fatigue from not sleeping." She responded. I looked down. She hadn't eaten the food I left for her.
"What did the school say?" I asked. Sasha clenched her jaw.
"Whoever did this must have really wanted to spook her out. They can't find anything on the cameras." She said angrily.
"So, we don't have anything right now?" I said. " what about Garrett or Emily? Can't we ask them?" Sasha shook her head.
"We can't go around talking to students just because we think it's them, we need solid evidence that puts them there." She said. I was being to understand her frustrations. I sighed and nodded.
"Where is Ivy?" I asked. Sasha pointed to the corner.
"Over there, she didn't want Jewel's crying to bother anyone." She said. I nodded. Soon, Violet came rushing out of the room.
"She's awake!" She yelled. Turning back into the room. I walked in seeing Vikky slowly opening and closing her eyes.
"Vikky! Are you alright?" I asked. She blinked before looking around the room, she slowly tried to sit up. I rushed to her side to help her.
"Easy there, you just woke up." I said to her. After sitting up she looked around the room once more.
"Where's Jewel and David?" She croaked our softly. David got up from his chair and rushed to her side. He tapped her hand. Turned towards him. She took a sigh of relief before smiling at him.
"David, where's your sister?" She asked him while rubbing his cheek gently. Ivy soon walked in holding a crying Jewel.
"Right here." She said. Vikky instantly reached out to hold her. Ivy carefully passed Jewel to her. Vikky rocked Jewel slightly while shushing her.
"Princess, I'm right here." She said softly. Everyone in the room watched the exchange silently as Jewels loud and scratchy cries turned into quiet and soft tears. Vikky left out a shaky breath.
"Vikky..?" I said quietly. She sniffled before wiping her eyes.
" I'm sorry." She apologized quickly.
"No, it's fine. I just wanted to ask you something if you don't mind." I said.
"Let her rest, she just woke up." Adam interrupted. Vikky shook her head.
"No I'm, I'm fine. What did you want to ask?" She said. I took a deep breath before staring at her purple eyes.
"When was the last time you ate?" I asked her. The room went silent. I watched as her face heated before she quickly looked away.
"I, I ate last night." She said. I frowned.
"Vikky, I need to know." I said. Her eyes dragged over to David. I instantly understood.
"Violet, can you please take David outside for a minute?" I asked. She nodded before gently grabbing his hand. He pulled away and instantly turned to Vikky. Vikky frowned.
"Angel, it will only be a minute. I'll call you back in soon." She said. David shook his head and grabbed her arm. A pained expression creeped its way to Vikky's face. She sighed before rubbing his back.
"Okay angel. It's okay." She said. David let out small cries. I quickly looked away. Blinking the tears out of my own eyes.
"Angel, come here." She said. Violet helped lift David onto the bed. He sat on Vikky's lap.
"Look here." She said, lifting David's face to look at her. He looked at her while crying. Vikky put on the biggest smile she could.
"I'm okay Angel." She said. David only cried harder. Vikky looked up at the ceiling as her eyes sting with tears. She looked back at David still forcing a smile.
"You see, I'm fine!" She said. David continued to cry.
"You said.." he hiccuped. "No more t-tears." He cried. Vikky paused before hugging him again. Ivy and Violet quietly wiped there eyes. The room was silent except for David's loud sobs. I looked at Ivy who tapped Violets shoulder, signaling her that we should leave. Violet coughed.
"We'll be outside." Ivy said softly. Sasha stood up before walking out of the room along with us. Adam however stayed in his seat. I was about to turn to him and tell him to leave when Sasha stopped me. We all walked out of the room. Leaving Vikky along with her siblings alone with Adam.
