Eric didn't stay at Xucheng's house for long. He simply communicated a couple of things to Huangying and Xucheng and then rushed back to the hotel.
Eric stood in front of Lina's presidential suite. Just as he was about to press the doorbell, he saw the "do not disturb" sign on the door.
Eric hesitated for a moment and ended up deciding not to ring the doorbell. Instead, he took out his phone and sent a text message to Lina, asking her if there was anything she needed him to do.
A few seconds later, he received Lina's response:[I'm tired, and I'm getting ready to go to bed. Don't bother me tonight. Take care of anything that happens at the company.]
When he saw Lina's response, Eric's nerves finally calmed down. It seemed like Lina still trusted him and didn't suspect him because of today's incident. She was still allowing him full authority over company matters.
