Chapter 1 - chapter two the traveller

At the very same moment a young sacrificial lamb known as Alex Carter entered the scene his manner was that of man lost in thought, so at first he did not even noticed the dark shape in the alley.

The shape within the darkness moved and shifted its patterns vague almost dreamlike in their complexity but there was something else much deeper.

Alex felt the rush of fear almost immediately and a sense of dreading and foreboding which accompanied the darkness his legs had frozen to the very spot.

His eyes wide a shiver a cold fear travelled straight through him leaving a trail of hopelessness in its path.

His voice had almost disappeared but he managed a single word "Why"

As if simply responding to his question the figure stepped out into the twilight existence of the alley a thin smile appeared on its face, a white line which spread across its face as it glanced at Alex looking deep into his soul.

His knew his victim's fear he wanted to taste it, to savour it, the thought brought a renewed smile to its face licking his lips in anticipation.

As if a gust of wind had suddenly appeared blowing away the darkness completely a the a slender figure was revealed its arms and legs newly formed were almost stick like in their appearance, but the most shocking aspect was the head.

Almost to round to be possible in its shape long wisps of white hair hung down limply an unearthly wind gently blew the wisps about its head, as if to avert your attention to that of its face.

It had eyes well at least they looked like eyes but were they dark black globs of emptiness, a panic grew within Alex which up until this point he was barely able to control overtook him completely.

Whatever reasoning was left fled back into the dark recesses of his mind, as for the mouth for there was no nose to speak of.

The ever present thin white line had changed slightly and could almost be called a sneer. It stick like appearance had not changed but its height had it now towered over Alex looking down at him.

Now the moment of his death was swift and violent for as Alex range of movement slowly returned a stick like arm shot out piercing his chest completely coming out his back with a squelching sound.

Pulling the arm back through slowly its fingers seeking out his very essence the heart was pulled cleanly from the gaping wound.

Letting the body fall limply the floor of the alley it's prized in hand the darkness enveloped it once more returning to twilight.

The alarm bells still rang loudly in as the gateway was finally closed but the damaged had already been done, the loss of life, could not be forgotten.

However that fact the essences were stolen now that was another thing altogether, without their essence they could never truly return to heaven and were distain to travel through hell-born.
